The system monitors a set of factors corresponding to the set of prediction strategies and switches a prediction strategy from the set of derived prediction strategies. The system predicts a set of predictions for identification of a potential future time-variant energy demand and consumption and predicts a set of predictions. The system manipulates an operational state of the plurality of energy consuming devices and the plurality of energy storage and supply means.
DETERMINING BATTERY DEPLETION FOR COORDINATING BATTERY REPLACEMENT
A battery-powered node includes a primary cell, a secondary cell, and a battery controller. The battery controller includes a current source that draws power from the primary cell to charge the secondary cell. The battery-powered node draws power from the secondary cell across a wide range of current levels. When the voltage of the secondary cell drops beneath a minimum voltage level, the current source charges the secondary cell at a constant current level and a charging signal is sent to the battery-powered node. When the voltage of the second cell exceeds a maximum voltage level, the current source stops charging the secondary cell and the charging signal is terminated. The battery-powered node records the amount of time the charging signal is active, which can be used to determine a battery depletion level for the primary cell. Battery replacement may then be efficiently scheduled based on the depletion level.
Power adapter configured to apply power to a device
A power adapter configured to apply power to a device is disclosed. The power adapter comprises a switching module having a recess comprising a first set of contacts for receiving control signals, wherein the switching module comprises a switch for selectively applying power to a device based upon the control signals; and a control module removably coupled to the switching module and having a second set of contacts coupled to the first set of contacts of the switching module when the control module is attached to the switching module; wherein the switching module comprises a user interface element.
VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
A vehicle electrical system includes a battery, a customer connection point, a switch electrically connected in series between the battery and the customer connection point, a computer communicatively coupled to the switch, and a transceiver communicatively coupled to the computer. The computer is programmed to instruct the switch to open in response to a state of charge of the battery decreasing below a charge threshold, receive an input selecting a time limit, and instruct the transceiver to transmit a message to a remote server upon determining that the state of charge of the battery will decrease below the charge threshold in less than the time limit from a current time.
Wireless transmission in shared wireless medium environments
Support of coexistence of wireless transmission equipment in shared wireless medium environments is disclosed, which is applicable to various types of wireless transmission equipment. For instance, a wireless power transmission system (WPTS) delivers power to wireless power receiver clients via transmission of wireless power signals using one or more frequencies and/or channels within shared wireless medium environments in which other wireless equipment is operating, such as access points and stations in wireless local area networks (WLANs). The WPTS is configured to co-exist with the operations of the other wireless equipment within the shared wireless medium environment by adapting its transmission operations to utilize frequencies or channels that do not interfere with other equipment and/or implementing co-channel and shared channels operations under which access to channels is implemented using standardized WLAN protocols such as PHY and MAC protocols used for 802.11 (Wi-Fi™) networks.
INTEGRATED HOME ENERGY MANAGEMENT AND ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING
A system includes control circuitry configured to determine a maximum electrical load for one or more electrical circuits on one or more electrical panels, determine preference information for allocating the maximum electrical load, automatically set a charge rate for charging the electric vehicle using current from at least one of the one or more electrical circuits based on the maximum electrical load and on the preference information, and cause the electric vehicle to be charged at the charge rate.
Intelligent electronic device comprising a cellular radio module
A method for enabling communication of data relating to samples of electric measurements, the method being performed in an intelligent electronic device, IED, including a cellular radio module, the IED being configured to protect power system equipment. The method includes the steps of: detecting channel quality using the cellular radio module, the channel quality relating to a channel between the IED and a base station; transmitting packets using the cellular radio module, each packet including data relating to samples of electric measurements for protecting power system equipment; and increasing sample rate of the electric measurements when the channel quality is worse than a first threshold.
