WIRELESS TRANSMISSION IN SHARED WIRELESS MEDIUM ENVIRONMENTS
Support of coexistence of wireless transmission equipment in shared wireless medium environments is disclosed, which is applicable to various types of wireless transmission equipment. For instance, a wireless power transmission system (WPTS) delivers power to wireless power receiver clients via transmission of wireless power signals using one or more frequencies and/or channels within shared wireless medium environments in which other wireless equipment is operating, such as access points and stations in wireless local area networks (WLANs). The WPTS is configured to co-exist with the operations of the other wireless equipment within the shared wireless medium environment by adapting its transmission operations to utilize frequencies or channels that do not interfere with other equipment and/or implementing co-channel and shared channels operations under which access to channels is implemented using standardized WLAN protocols such as PHY and MAC protocols used for 802.11 (Wi-Fi™) networks.
In-wall power adapters and methods of implementing in-wall power adapters
An in-wall power adapter is described. The in-wall power adapter comprises a first contact element configured to receive power; an outlet coupled to receive power from the first contact element; and a recess having contact elements adapted to provide at least one of power signals and control signals; wherein the recess is adapted to receive a module.
CONTROL SYSTEM FOR AN ELECTRICAL APPARATUS
A system includes an electrical apparatus configured to monitor or control one or more aspects of an electrical power distribution network; and a control system including more than one electronic processor, where the electronic processors are configured to cause the control system to interact with the electrical apparatus, an interaction between the control system and the electrical apparatus including one or more of the control system providing information to the electrical apparatus and the control system receiving information from the electrical apparatus, and if some of the electronic processors are unable to cause the control system to interact with the electrical apparatus, at least one of the other electronic processors is able to cause the control system to interact with the apparatus.
Externally configurable worksite power distribution box
Systems and methods for configuring, with an external device, a power distribution box having priority disconnects. The power distribution box includes a housing portion and a base portion elevating the housing portion. The power distribution box receives power from an external power source and distributes the power to a plurality of alternating current (AC) output receptacles. The power distribution box further includes an antenna and a power disconnect controller coupled to the antenna to communicate with and be configured by an external device, such as a smart phone, tablet, or laptop computer. Using the external device, a user can configure the priority level and mode of the AC output receptacles. In the case of high current, the power distribution box will disconnect receptacles in accordance with the priority level and mode configuration provided by the external device.
Utility power distribution branch management system
There is provided a system for assigning power to a plurality of smart appliances. The system includes a plurality of smart outlet assemblies. Each of the smart outlet assemblies is paired to and in electrical communication with a respective one of the smart appliances. The system includes at least one smart breaker assembly in electrical communication with the smart outlet assemblies. The system includes a master server in communication with the smart breaker assembly. The system includes distributed databases used to exchange data among the smart outlet assemblies, the smart breaker assembly, and the master server. The master server selectively assign power to respective ones of the smart appliances via the smart breaker assembly based on the data. If the master server is unreachable, the smart breaker assembly is configured to selectively assign power to the smart appliances based on the data records.
WIRELESS CHARGING DEVICE, METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR NEGOTIATING POWER CLASS BY USING SHORT RANGE WIRELESS COMMUNICATION
The present specification relates to: a wireless power receiving device, which can receive information about a power class on the basis of out-band communications at a short distance before the wireless power receiving device is positioned at the charging position of a wireless power transmitting device, and negotiate power class; the wireless power transmitting device; a wireless power transmitting method; a wireless power receiving method; and a wireless power transmitting system. According to the present specification, whether power of the wireless power transmitting device (or a charger) is suitable for the wireless power receiving device (or a device to be charged) is quickly identified remotely or at a short distance prior to a wireless power transmission (or wireless charging), appropriate charging power is set through negotiation, and then wireless charging can be safely performed.
WIRELESS POWER TRANSMISSION SYSTEM FOR WIRELESSLY TRANSMITTING POWER TO PREVENT POWER SHORTAGE IN LOAD DEVICE OF WIRELESS POWER RECEIVING APPARATUS
A wireless power transmitting apparatus is provided with: a power transmitting circuit for transmitting power for a load device to a wireless power receiving apparatus; a signal transmitting circuit for transmitting a control signal for the load device to the wireless power receiving apparatus; a signal receiving circuit for obtaining an estimated received power level indicating a level of the power transmitted from the wireless power transmitting apparatus and received by the wireless power receiving apparatus; and a control circuit. The control circuit periodically allocates time slots to wireless power receiving apparatuses for wireless power transmission. When the received power level is smaller than a threshold in a first time slot allocated to one wireless power receiving apparatus, the control circuit extends a second time slot allocated to the one wireless power receiving apparatus, the second time slot preceding or following the first time slot.
System, method, and apparatus for electric power grid and network management of grid elements
Systems, methods, and apparatus for smart electric power grid communication are disclosed in the present invention. At least one grid element transmits at least one registration message over an Internet Protocol (IP)-based network to at least one coordinator. The at least one coordinator registers the at least one grid element upon receipt of the at least one registration message. The at least one grid element automatically and/or autonomously transforms into at least one active grid element for actively functioning in the electric power grid. The at least one coordinator tracks based on revenue grade metrology an amount of power available for the electric power grid or a curtailment power available from the at least one active grid element.
Load control system having a broadcast controller with a diverse wireless communication system
A load control system for controlling the amount of power delivered from an AC power source to a plurality of electrical load includes a plurality of energy controllers. Each energy controller is operable to control at least one of the electrical loads. The load control system also includes a first broadcast controller that has a first antenna and a second antenna. The first antenna is arranged in a first position and the second antenna is arranged in a second position that is orthogonal to the first position. The broadcast controller is operable to transmit a first wireless signal via the first antenna and a second wireless signal via the second antenna. Each of the energy controllers is operable to receive at least one of the first and second wireless signals, and to control the respective load in response to the received wireless signal.
Remotely Controlling Playback Devices
In some implementations, a system can be configured to allow remote control devices to quietly obtain status information related to various audio/video playback devices. For example, a streaming device (e.g., a user device, phone, etc.) can establish a streaming connection to a playback device. The playback device can be configured to only accept a single streaming connection (i.e., master connection). A remote control device (e.g., a user device, phone, etc.) can quietly connect (i.e., control connection) to the playback device without interrupting the master connection to obtain status information related to the playback device and or the media being streamed to the playback device. The remote control device can provide commands through the control connection to adjust the playback of the streamed media at the playback device.
