STATORS AND COILS FOR AXIAL-FLUX DYNAMOELECTRIC MACHINES
A stator assembly includes a stator core defined by an inner periphery and an outer periphery, and a plurality of coils. The stator core includes a stator yoke. Each coil of the plurality of coils includes a first set of segments and a second set of segments each extending between the inner periphery and the outer periphery of the stator core. The first set of segments is arranged to form a first coil portion having a “V” shape and the second set of segments is arranged to form a second coil portion having a “V” shape. The first coil portion and the second coil portion each have a vertex and two ends. The ends of the first coil portion are coupled to the ends of the second coil portion. Other example stators, and example dynamoelectric machines and compressors including one or more stators are also disclosed.

A stator assembly includes a stator core defined by an inner periphery and an outer periphery, and a plurality of coils. The stator core includes a stator yoke. Each coil of the plurality of coils includes a first set of segments and a second set of segments each extending between the inner periphery and the outer periphery of the stator core. The first set of segments is arranged to form a first coil portion having a “V” shape and the second set of segments is arranged to form a second coil portion having a “V” shape. The first coil portion and the second coil portion each have a vertex and two ends. The ends of the first coil portion are coupled to the ends of the second coil portion. Other example stators, and example dynamoelectric machines and compressors including one or more stators are also disclosed.
MULTI-COMPONENT ROTOR FOR AN ELECTRIC MOTOR OF AN APPLIANCE
A motor for a laundry appliance includes a drive shaft coupled to a drum at a first end. The rotor frame is coupled proximate the second end of the drive shaft, where the rotor frame includes at least one polymeric material. A central hub includes a core and a perimetrical ring that extends circumferentially around the core. A plurality of recesses are defined within a planar surface of the perimetrical ring, wherein a portion of the polymeric material is received within the plurality of recesses to secure the rotor frame to the central hub.
MULTI-COMPONENT ROTOR FOR AN ELECTRIC MOTOR OF AN APPLIANCE
A motor for a laundry appliance includes a drive shaft coupled to a drum at a first end. The rotor frame is coupled proximate the second end of the drive shaft, where the rotor frame includes at least one polymeric material. A central hub includes a core and a perimetrical ring that extends circumferentially around the core. A plurality of recesses are defined within a planar surface of the perimetrical ring, wherein a portion of the polymeric material is received within the plurality of recesses to secure the rotor frame to the central hub.

This application provides a method for controlling a planar drive system, where the planar drive system comprises at least a controller, a stator module having a stator surface, and a rotor that may is positionable and movable on the stator surface. The method comprises positioning an object on a rotor in a first arrangement state of the object in a positioning step, carrying out an accelerating movement of a defined movement pattern of the rotor; and, by the accelerating movement, arranging the object positioned on the rotor in the first arrangement state in a second arrangement state relative to the rotor, in an arranging step. The application further provides a planar drive system.

This application provides a method for controlling a planar drive system, where the planar drive system comprises at least a controller, a stator module having a stator surface, and a rotor that may is positionable and movable on the stator surface. A method for controlling a planar drive system includes determining values of magnetic stator fields for different energizing currents and spatial regions in a two-dimensional array of magnetic field sensors, generating at least one magnetic stator field by applying energizing currents to stator conductors to electrically control a rotor, determining measured values of a total magnetic field via the magnetic field sensors for a plurality of the spatial regions to determine a position of the rotor, compensating contributions of the magnetic stator fields to the measured values of the total magnetic field determined by the magnetic field sensors, generating measured values of the magnetic field determined by the respective magnetic field sensors for the respective space regions, and determining a position of the rotor based on the generated measured values of the magnetic fields. The planar drive system includes at least a controller, a stator module, and a rotor.

A propulsion system, comprising: a fan blade housing; a plurality of fan blades within the fan blade housing; one or more rows of permanent magnets, affixed to the outside of the fan blade housing; one or more fan blade bearings; one or more magnetic field generators affixed to the one or more fan blade bearings and corresponding to the one or more rows of permanent magnets, the magnetic field generators configured to cause the permanent magnets to be propelled forward in the same direction, thereby causing the fan blade housing to which they are attached, and the fan blades within, to spin.
