Integrated direct drive motor system

An integrated direct drive motor system for industrial use includes an outer rotor motor axially aligned with, and coupled to, a rotating drum, with no transmission or clutch mechanism between the two so that the drum is effectively an extension of the outer rotor of the motor. An adapter coupler attaches to the motor and the drum to allow the motor to directly drive the drum. In one exemplary embodiment, a flexible curtain is spooled vertically by the drum to control an industrial high-speed roll-up door. In another exemplary embodiment, an endless-loop belt is driven by a horizontally-oriented drum to control an industrial conveyor system. Various embodiments of the integrated direct drive motor system and various method of operation are disclosed.

The tensioner further includes an actuator operating so as to autonomously vary an entire length so that one end thereof is fixed to the base arm and the other end thereof is connected with the driving arm; a first pulley rotatably connected with the first pulley connecting portion or the driving arm and rolling while contacting the belt; and a second pulley rotatably connected with the second pulley connecting portion of the driven arm and rolling while contacting the belt.

The invention includes a hubless magnetic gyroscope that creates leveraged rotational torque/horsepower from its perimeter, that is propelled by a circulatory field double helix coil assembly located proximate to the magnetic gyroscope, and that produce both phasing electromagnetic energy in one of its two strands while the second strand returns the unused portion of the electromagnetic fields to the power source as electricity to increase overall efficiency. Connected to the hubless gyroscope is a means to transfer rotation from the gyroscope to the end use. The present invention is capable of replacing conventional electric motors with a more efficient, compact and lightweight alternative.
