20170346377 · 2017-11-30 ·

A novel method of triggering an electromagnetic type energy harvesting generator that has disposed a spherical magnet, surrounded by a coil of wire and rotatable in an enclosure about an axis with an axially protruding paddle member, axially aligned dual offset paddle members, or other flick trigger mechanism structure situated tangent along the surface of the spherical magnet enclosure, whereinthis enclosed magnet is centred within the electrical coil, which is free to rotate about its axis. The magnet is held in a static state rotational position by two opposite outwardly disposed flux focus magnets. The spherical magnet and the focus magnets are all in a magnetic attractive circuit; and the magnetic flux lines are in a static field concentration throughout the coil windings aided by the focus magnets. A reciprocating trigger device means with a contact finger is utilized to engage the axially protruding paddle member(s).

ROTATION-TYPE ACTUATOR ACTUATED BY TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATION OR TEMPERATURE GRADIENT AND ENERGY HARVESTING DEVICE USING SAME

The present invention relates to a rotation-type actuator which includes a fiber having a twisted structure, which is manufactured by rotating the fiber in the opposite directions. Here, the fiber is divided into a top portion and a bottom portion with respect to the center thereof, at least one of the top and bottom portions of the fiber is fixed, and the top and bottom portions of the fiber each independently have a coiled shape as a chiral Z-type or chiral S-type structure. The rotation-type actuator has an excellent rotation speed, and also exhibits no significant decrease in rotation speed due to excellent durability and stability even when used for a long period of time. In addition, the rotation-type actuator uses a polymer fiber manufactured through electro spinning alone or using a polymer sheet obtained by aligning the polymer fiber in a single direction, and can efficiently convert heat energy, which is wasted in the air, into mechanical energy without providing a high temperature fluctuation since the rotation-type actuator has reversible, rapid and efficient actuation using persistent temperature gradient supplied from a temperature difference present in surrounding environments. Accordingly, energy harvesting devices, having improved efficiency and excellent service life characteristics in recovering heat energy as electrical energy using the rotation-type actuator, can be provided.

Ankle movement capture and conversion into energy

A portion of ankle movement can be harnessed into stored energy that can be released for various purposes, such as to assist in movement or to charge a battery. This harnessing can be achieved in various manners. In one example manner, an offset pulley component can transfer ankle movement to a generator in a shoe insole. In another example manner, a slider can cause a brace arch to match an ankle arch such that the movement is appropriately harnessed.

The present invention relates to wobbly balls and exercise coil springs. A wobbly ball may include a non-spherical rigid, hollow ball body formed of two halves, each half comprising an upper ladle or a lower ladle which are welded together along a central seam therebetween, and defining a hollow cavity therein. A spherical inner ball is captured within the hollow cavity of the hollow ball body of the wobbly ball, so that upon movement of the wobbly ball, the inner ball rolls within the cavity, producing a wobbly, eccentric motion. The exercise coil spring may be formed of a single coiled wire, the coiled spring including a central portion where the coiled wire is coiled to a first diameter that is constant. Opposed flared ends are provided ends of the central portion where the coiled wire is progressively coiled from the first diameter to a second diameter, which is greater.

A power transmission assembly includes a base, a rotating frame rotatably coupled to the base and configured to rotate about an axis, an output shaft coupled to the rotating frame, a weight selectively repositionable relative to the rotating frame, and a weight actuator configured to reposition the weight relative to the rotating frame to move the weight from a subtraction position located at a first height to an addition position located at a second height. The second height is greater than the first height such that a gravitational force on the weight drives the rotating frame to rotate about the axis and drive the output shaft.

ELECTRICAL POWER GENERATING APPARATUS
20220049441 · 2022-02-17 · ·

An electrical power generating apparatus for generating electrical power using a generator connected directly or indirectly to a flywheel is disclosed. The apparatus comprises items such as platforms, protrusions, generators, flywheels and other components. The platforms are configured to be laid on a surface and easily allow an object, e.g., a vehicle to traverse over the platforms. Each protrusion is configured to move downward and upward through apertures located in a top portion of the platform. The protrusions may interact with reset members. The protrusions move in a linear/angle downward/downward-upward motion when the object pushes/strikes/depresses the protrusions. Each protrusion can be connected in an operative manner to a shaft via a gear, and/or to a lever which is connected in an operative manner to shaft, thereby rotating the shaft by converting linear motion to rotational motion. A generator, flywheel, and gearbox can be coupled to one or more shaft.

Compound energy co-generation system

A compound energy co-generation system converts forestry, agricultural, and similar biomass to energy at the source farm. A working fluid reserve at the base is coupled with a boiler inlet. The boiler has a combustion chamber, a vertically rising exhaust stack, and a liquid jacket around the combustion chamber and rising from the working fluid reserve. The liquid jacket receives thermal energy from the combustion chamber and converts a portion of the liquid working fluid into a gas to create a dual-phase working fluid. A reciprocal fluid container, which in one embodiment is a piston and in another is a sealed and insulated container, receives the elevated liquid working fluid. The change in weight drives a power conversion system to convert lowering of the fluid container into electrical energy. Additional ordinarily wasted energy components are employed to perform useful work to improve overall efficiency.
