METHOD FOR MANUFACTURE OF ELECTRIC MOTOR
20200153318 · 2020-05-14 ·

An electric motor is disclosed having a detachable stator tooth. In some implementations, coil windings of the electric motor may be coupled to one or more drivers independently of other coil windings. A method of repairing and manufacturing an electric motor having a detachable stator tooth is also disclosed.

Grouped tooth electric motor

An electric motor may comprise a rotor and a stator comprising rotor and stator teeth, respectively. A non-uniform angular spacing or grouping of rotor teeth may facilitate desired rotational speeds of the rotor. In an embodiment, such non-uniform angular spacing may be such that for at least a subset of the rotor teeth comprising a first, second, and third rotor tooth, an angular spacing between the first and the second rotor teeth is at least twice an angular spacing between the second and the third rotor teeth.

An electrical machine including a moveable permanent magnet configured to generate a first magnetic field. A stator including windings configured to excite a second magnetic field. A moveable inter-pole component located between the permanent magnet component and the stator, the inter-pole component comprising an array of magnetic inter-pole pieces. The speed of movement of the inter-pole component is controlled to set a magnetic gear ratio between the first and second magnetic fields. Also a gas turbine engine, propulsor or thruster incorporating the electrical machine.

Eddy current repulsion motor
10630128 · 2020-04-21 · ·

A method and apparatus for controlling an electric motor. A flow of an alternating current through stator coils in the electric motor is controlled based on a position of a rotor in the electric motor such that a repulsive force between a rotor and a stator coil in the stator coils occurs when the alternating current flows through the stator coil.

An actuator includes a yoke extending about a rotation axis. A coil is wrapped about the yoke. A rotor having a direct axis and a quadrature axis is supported for rotation about a rotation axis relative to the yoke. The rotor has a reluctance along the direct axis that is different than a reluctance along the quadrature axis to rotate the rotor when current is applied to the coil.

The present invention relates to a line start synchronous reluctance motor and a rotor thereof. To this end, the present invention provides a line start synchronous reluctance motor including: a rotor; a plurality of conductor bars disposed on a side of an outer circumferential portion of the rotor; and flux barriers formed at an inner side of the rotor so as to be close to the conductor bars, wherein the flux barriers, which are formed in separate regions of a body of the rotor that are arranged to have opposite polarities, are formed to be asymmetrical to each other. Therefore, the present invention improves characteristics of the motor through the asymmetrical flux-barrier structure without changing the number of conductor bars, thereby allowing the initial starting of the motor to be smoothly performed, which is advantageous in terms of torque ripple characteristics and die casting.
