Flywheel systems and flywheel bearing modules
A flywheel system includes a fixture providing a base and a stator, rotor having a cavity to receive the stator, a generator/motor module having a plurality of permanent magnets mechanically coupled to the rotor and an active magnetic bearing module. The active magnetic bearing module includes a plurality of magnetizable elements mechanically coupled to or integrated in the rotor, and a plurality of electromagnets mechanically coupled to a shaft and configured to magnetically couple with the plurality of first magnetizable elements to actively stabilize the rotor relative to the fixture. The windings of the generator/motor module are arranged around the rotation axis of the rotor at a first distance from the rotation axis of the rotor, the electromagnets of the active magnetic bearing module are arranged around the rotation axis of the rotor at a second distance, and the first distance is greater than or equal to the second distance.
Brushless DC motor incorporating single pole double throw magnetic switch
A brushless DC motor utilizing a single pole double throw reed switch as a rotor position sensor. In one embodiment, the motor has a four-pole internal stator with bifilar windings providing alternating polarization for each subsequent pole, and a hollow outer rotor with radially magnetized ring-shaped permanent magnet. The rotor magnet has magnetically uninterrupted four-pole torque generating surface and incorporates features to interact with the reed switch. A non-uniform air gap between the stator poles and an inner surface of the rotor magnet allows generating a complementary reluctance torque between the energization pulses. The motor includes means to limit the electric current through the reed switch.
OUTER ROTOR TYPE BRUSHLESS MOTOR
A motor includes a rotor frame; a shaft; first and second rotor magnets that are coupled with the shaft, formed separately, and spaced apart in an axial direction of the shaft; a stator portion having a stator core, a winding around the stator core, and a plurality of first salient pole portions; a torque holding portion facing the rotor magnets in a radial direction, being arranged between the rotor frame and the stator portion in the axial direction of the shaft, and having a plurality of second salient pole portions; and a circuit board arranged, in the axial direction of the shaft, on a side of the stator portion opposite the rotor frame. An electronic component is arranged at the circuit board.
FREE PISTON DEVICE
A free piston device, comprises a housing with a cylindrical inner wall having a first wall opening and a second wall opening; a cylindrical piston movable in axial direction and rotatable around its longitudinal axis; the piston comprising a first skirt forming a first chamber, said first skirt having at least a first opening in the form of a hole through the wall of the skirt for allowing passage of a fluid directly into or out of said chamber; control means for controlling axial and angular movement of said piston; sensing means for providing signals related to the axial position and/or the angular position of the piston; a digital control unit for rotating the piston around its longitudinal axis in synchronism with its axial movement.
Motor stator with reduced coil configuration
A motor is provided for use in a machine. The motor includes a segmented stator comprising magnetically isolated core segments.
Washing machine motor and washing machine comprising same
Provided are a washing machine motor including: an outer shaft connected to a washing tub; an inner shaft rotatably disposed inside the outer shaft and connected to a pulsator; an inner rotor connected to the outer shaft; an outer rotor connected to the inner shaft; a stator disposed between the inner rotor and the outer rotor with an air gap; and a planetary gear setmounted on the inner shaft so as to reduce a rotational speed. The washing machine motor includes the planetary gear set which increases a torque by reducing a rotational speed in the inner shaft connected to the pulsator to thereby allow implementation of a large-capacity washing machine.
