Gaming Die with Incongruent Sides and More Sides than Outcomes
This invention is a gaming die that use a combination of incongruent sides and a number of sides that is greater than the number of outcomes in order to produce practically fair results.
DICE
Dice which have the exterior form of regular polyhedrons, but are not solid polyhedrons. Instead, the dice, when viewed externally, are in the form of skeletal polyhedrons with floating faces. The dice also include a solid core surrounding their center which can serve to improve tumbling behavior.
Improved System and Method for Mathematics Education
A system and method for teaching and learning mathematics. The system includes a plurality of modules including a first module having blocks for assembling into different configurations, a second module having a plurality of sheets of predetermined mathematical equations, a third module having a plurality of dice having numbers and mathematical operation symbols, and a fourth module having a deck of playing cards. At least one of the modules is implemented with augmented or virtual reality. The blocks of the first module comprise blocks of differing geometric shapes. The sheets of the second module comprise at least addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division operations. The third module includes dice having a plurality of sides, with two dice having a number on each side and one dice having a different mathematical operation symbol on each side. The deck of the fourth module contains playing cards with numbers on both sides.
Spades Variant
A card game includes a deck of playing cards, an octahedral die, and spinner with a category card and timer. Each face of the octahedral die has indicia designating the dealer for the game. The spinner is divided into sections. A rotatable pointer is attached to the spinner. A category card is associated with the spinner and has verbiage describing the variants of the card game selected by the pointer. A timer controls the time of a speed hand and is started at the beginning of play of the card game. Prior to beginning of play of the card game, the octahedral die is thrown and when it had landed, the side facing up decides the dealer. Another player then spins the rotatable pointer to decide the category variant of the game to be played. Play then proceeds as with the rules of the card game.
Pie game and method for playing the same
A pie game of chance and strategy is disclosed herein. The pie game includes a plurality of sector-shaped game pieces with favorable and unfavorable pie indicia printed thereon; a plurality of pans configured to be distributed to players of the pie game, each of the plurality of pans configured to hold a portion of the plurality of sector-shaped game pieces therein such that, when the pan is circumferentially filled with the portion of the plurality of sector-shaped game pieces, a complete circular pie is formed in the pan; and at least one die, the at least one die configured to determine an action taken by one or more of the players of the pie game when the at least one die is rolled by one of the players. A method for playing a pie game of chance and strategy is also disclosed herein.
60-Sided and 120-Sided Replacement Dice
Certain embodiments of 60-sided and 120-sided replacement dice each having a probability distribution equivalent to that of a subject die with fewer faces than the corresponding replacement die such that each replacement die can be used in place of the corresponding subject die.
Electronic dice
An electronic die capable of reporting roll results is disclosed. The die can include an acceleration measurement system capable of outputting roll data. A processor can then interpret the roll data and transmit it through a wireless interface to a monitoring device. The monitoring device can then show a user the roll result. Waking the electronic die from a low power mode is also disclosed along with customizing the electronic die with faceplates and protective covers.
Tactile braille dice
A tactile die for playing a game, the die comprising a plurality of sides, wherein each side comprises a face having a braille character, each side comprises 3 or more raised border edges surrounding the face, and wherein one of the 3 or more raised border edges is an indicator edge configured to indicate an orientation of the face, the indicator edge comprising an indent along a length thereof.
Dice
Dice which have the exterior form of regular polyhedrons, but are not solid polyhedrons. Instead, the dice, when viewed externally, are in the form of skeletal polyhedrons with floating faces. The dice also include a solid core surrounding their center which can serve to improve tumbling behavior.
Low Probability Dice
This is a novel gaming dice invention that incorporates low probability results, called Low Probability Dice, invented by Benjamin M. Timp for the purposes of board games, role-playing games, or other dice playing games of chance. By combining different sizes of landing planes, some of the results have lower probabilities of landing face up.
