Article with closed instep portion having variable volume
An article of footwear includes an intermediate covering portion with an adjustable volume. The intermediate covering portion is closed around the instep of the foot. The article also includes a tensioning system that can be used to change the volume of the intermediate covering portion.
REVERSABLE STRAP FOR AN ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR
A reversible strap for an article of footwear is provided. The reversible strap includes a strap-end and a strap-body. The strap-body includes a first surface on one side thereof and a second surface on the other side thereof, such that the wearer can manually manipulate the strap-body to select between the two surfaces, which are visually distinguishable from each other. The strap-end detachably secures the strap-body to the article of footwear and can complement one or more visual markings on the strap-body.
Strap systems for articles of footwear and other foot-receiving devices
Strap systems for securing feet into articles of footwear or other foot-receiving devices include one or more strap members formed or engaged together in a continuous path along an upper for an article of footwear or other foot-receiving device. One or more structures for applying a force to the strap member(s) is provided so as to shorten a length of the continuous path and thereby apply tension to the strap member(s). Such strap systems can be arranged so that the strap tightens during plantar flexion or dorsiflexion. Additional aspects of this invention relate to bootie members for supporting such strap systems, upper members or bootie members including such strap systems, and articles of footwear and other foot-receiving devices including such strap systems.
GUIDES AND COMPONENTS FOR CLOSURE SYSTEMS AND METHODS THEREFOR
According to an embodiment, a component for attachment to an article includes an upper component that is made of a thermoplastic material having a first melting temperature and a flange member that is molded onto the upper component and made of a thermoplastic elastomer material having a second melting temperature that is lower than the first melting temperature of the upper component. The flange member extends laterally from a bottom end of the upper component so that a bottom surface of the flange member is flush with or positioned axially below a bottom surface of the upper component. The melting temperature of the thermoplastic elastomer material enables the flange member to be directly coupled to the article via heat welding and the like without substantially affecting the upper component.
Fastening mechanism for ice skates
A securing device for attaching hockey skates to a foot. The device includes a series of fastening mechanisms distributed about the shoe along the length of the tongue. The series of fastening mechanisms provides protection and mobility for the foot. Each fastening mechanism includes a buckle, a receiving lip, an insertion lip, a pivot plate, a mounting plate, and an engagement strip. The mounting plate and the engagement strip are integrated into the shoe. The buckle is attached to the mounting plate through the pivot plate and includes a top surface, a bottom surface, a first cavity, a first plurality of teeth, and a locking hook. The buckle may be affixed to the engagement strip through the engagement of the first plurality of teeth and the engagement strip. The buckle may be secured into a locked configuration with the positioning of the locking hook into the keeper indentation.
Footwear with double lacing system
An article of footwear including a sole, and an upper having a lateral side and a medial side, each including a first lace opening. A lateral lace support and a medial lace support are attached to the sole and positioned adjacent to inner surfaces of the lateral and medial sides of the upper. The lateral lace support has a first length and the medial support has a second length, where the second length is greater than the first length, and each include a second lace opening. A lace is threaded through the first lace openings of the upper and the second lace openings of the lateral lace support and the medial lace support, where an axis extending between the lateral lace support and the medial lace support, after the lace is secured to the upper, is offset from an axis extending from a center of gravity of a user's foot.
Article of footwear and a charging system for an article of footwear
A charging system can include provisions for providing power to various systems or components associated with the article of footwear. A charging system may include a charging device dimensioned to be used with one or more articles of footwear, where the articles of footwear can include different sizes. In some cases, the charging system can be used to facilitate the transfer of power to components in a motorized tensioning system.
Lacing lockdown system
The present invention relates to a lacing system for tightening a shoe upper, comprising: at least one strap, and a first and a second guiding element for coupling the strap to the shoe upper, wherein a first end of the strap is attached to a tongue portion of the shoe upper and a second end of the strap is configured to receive a portion of a shoelace, and wherein the first guiding element is arranged in a throat area of the shoe upper and the second guiding element is arranged in a sole area of the shoe upper opposite to the throat area.
Autolacing footwear having a sliding securing device
An article of footwear and method of manufacturing includes a midsole, an upper, secured with respect to the midsole, forming an opening to admit a foot of a wearer, the opening being adjustable between a first segment of the upper and a second segment of the upper to secure the article of footwear to the foot of the wearer, and a slidable securing device. The slidable securing device is coupled between the first segment and the second segment of the upper, configured to slide along a length of track and secure the first and second segments together. A motorized lacing system engages with a lace to increase and decrease tension on the lace. The lace is secured to the slidable securing device, and when tension is placed on the lace, the lace causes the slidable securing device to slide along the track and secure the first and second segments together.
