Acoustic wave resonator with mass loading strip for suppression of transverse mode
Aspects of this disclosure relate to an acoustic wave resonator with transverse mode suppression. The acoustic wave resonator can include a piezoelectric layer, an interdigital transducer electrode, a temperature compensation layer, and a mass loading strip. The mass loading strip can be a conductive strip. The mass loading strip can overlap edge portions of fingers of the interdigital transducer electrode. A layer of the mass loading strip can have a density that is at least as high as a density of a material of the interdigital transducer electrode. The material of the interdigital transducer can impact acoustic properties of the acoustic wave resonator.
STRUCTURES, ACOUSTIC WAVE RESONATORS, LAYERS, DEVICES AND SYSTEMS
Techniques for improving structures, acoustic wave resonators, layers, and devices are disclosed, including filters, oscillators and systems that may include such devices. An acoustic wave device of this disclosure may comprise a substrate and a piezoelectric resonant volume. The piezoelectric resonant volume of the acoustic wave device may have a main resonant frequency. The acoustic wave device may comprise a first distributed Bragg acoustic reflector. The first distributed Bragg acoustic reflector may comprise a first active piezoelectric layer. The main resonant frequency of the Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) resonator may be in a super high frequency (SHF) band. The main resonant frequency of the Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) resonator may be in an extremely high frequency (EHF) band.
Multiplexer
A multiplexer includes a common terminal, a first terminal, a second terminal, a first filter device including acoustic wave resonators including series resonators and parallel resonators, an inductor provided between an acoustic wave resonator and the first terminal, and a second filter device. The first filter device further includes a first ground terminal to which a parallel resonator is electrically connected, a second ground terminal to which the parallel resonators are electrically connected, and a wiring provided between the inductor and an acoustic wave resonator. In the first filter device, the wiring is electrically connected to the first ground terminal, and the first ground terminal is not connected to the second ground terminal.
TUNING MULTIPLEXER FILTERS
Systems and methods for tuning multiplexer filters are disclosed. In one aspect, a multiplexer includes a first filter coupled to a common node, the first filter configured to pass a first band, a second filter coupled to the common node, the second filter configured to pass a second band, and at least one electrical component configured to generate a notch at a frequency between the first band and the second band.
BULK ACOUSTIC WAVE RESONATOR WITH INTEGRATED CAPACITOR
An integrated bulk acoustic wave resonator-capacitor comprises a membrane including a piezoelectric film, an upper electrode disposed on a top surface of the piezoelectric film, and a lower electrode disposed on a lower surface of the piezoelectric film, a resonator region of the membrane defining a main active domain in which a main acoustic wave is generated during operation, and a capacitor region of the membrane surrounding the resonator region, the capacitor region including a layer of conductive material disposed on the upper electrode, an inner capacitor raised frame defined on an inner peripheral region of the layer of conductive material, and an outer capacitor raised frame defined on an outer peripheral region of the layer of conductive material.
FILTER AND MULTIPLEXER
A filter includes a support substrate, a piezoelectric layer, one or more series resonators connected in series between input and output terminals, each having first electrode fingers having a first average pitch, one or more parallel resonators having one end connected to a path and another end connected to a ground, each having second electrode fingers having a second average pitch more than a maximum first average pitch, another resonator having one end connected to the path, and having third electrode fingers having a third average pitch less than or equal to an intermediate value between the maximum first average pitch and a minimum second average pitch, and an inductor having one end connected to the another resonator and another end connected to the ground, and having an inductance more than a maximum inductance of another inductor connected between the parallel resonators and the ground.
MULTIPLEXER WITH ACOUSTIC ASSISTED TRAP CIRCUIT
Aspects of this disclosure relate to a multiplexer with an acoustic assisted trap circuit. The multiplexer includes an acoustic wave filter with an acoustic wave resonator and an impedance network that together provide a trap for a harmonic associated with another acoustic wave filter of the multiplexer. The acoustic wave filter can have an edge of a passband that is farther from the harmonic than other acoustic filters of the multiplexer.

A bandpass filter circuit includes a fourth element that is a capacitor having one end connected to a first node, a fifth element that is a capacitor having one end connected to a second node, a sixth element that is a capacitor connected between other end of the fourth element and other end of the fifth element, a seventh element that is an inductor having one end connected to a fourth node to which the fourth element and the sixth element are connected, other end of the seventh element is connected to a ground terminal, and an eighth element that is an inductor having one end connected to a fifth node to which the fifth element and the sixth element are connected, other end of the eighth element is connected to the ground terminal.

A filter includes an input terminal, an output terminal, a ground terminal, a first capacitor and a second capacitor that are connected in series between the input terminal and the output terminal, a capacitive element that is connected in parallel to the first capacitor and the second capacitor between the input terminal and the output terminal, and has a Q factor that is smaller than a Q factor of the first capacitor and is smaller than a Q factor of the second capacitor, and an inductor that has a first end and a second end, the first end being coupled to a node that is provided between the first capacitor and the second capacitor and that is coupled to the capacitive element through the first capacitor and the second capacitor, the second end being coupled to the ground terminal.

A filter includes an input terminal, an output terminal, a first ground terminal, a second ground terminal, a first inductor having a first end coupled to a first node in a path between the input terminal and the output terminal and a second end coupled to a second node, a second inductor having a first end coupled to the second node and a second end coupled to the first ground terminal, and a third inductor having a first end coupled to the second node and a second end coupled to the second ground terminal.
