Method and apparatus for sensing environment using a wireless passive sensor
10637443 · 2020-04-28 · ·

A method for execution by a RFID tag includes receiving, by an antenna of the RFID tag, an RF signal from an RFID reader, where the RF signal has a carrier frequency. The method further includes determining, by a tuning circuit of the RFID tag, a received power level of the RF signal at the carrier frequency and whether the received power level compares favorably to a power level threshold. When the received power level compares unfavorably to the power level threshold, the method further includes adjusting, by the tuning circuit, the input impedance of the RFID tag by adjusting a tank circuit of the RFID tag until the received power level compares favorably to the power level threshold, where the input impedance of the RFID tag is based on one or more of impedance of the antenna and impedance of the tank circuit.

Devices and methods for auto-tuning a tunable circuit based on a frequency of operation of the tunable circuit using a clocked frequency detector circuit are described. The clocked frequency detector uses a readily available clock signal to drive a counter circuit to provide an indication of the frequency of operation of the tunable circuit. The tunable circuit, including the clocked frequency detector, can be integrated within a same chip that is autonomously configurable based on the frequency of operation and the readily available clock.

Apparatus and method for tuning frequency

A frequency tuning apparatus includes: a frequency tuner configured to tune an oscillation frequency of an oscillator based on target information extracted from a mapping table in correspondence to a target frequency, and oscillation information collected from the oscillator; and a frequency compensator configured to compensate for a compensation error between the tuned oscillation frequency and the target frequency based on an offset table.

Signaling Methods for Communication Systems with Widely Spaced Downlink and Uplink Frequency Channels

A method of wireless communication includes receiving a plurality of parameter values at a user equipment (UE) using a first local oscillator (LO) frequency value, where the plurality of parameter values includes indications of a downlink frequency channel and an uplink frequency channel. The method further includes determining a second LO frequency value at the UE, where the second LO frequency value is determined using the indications of downlink and uplink frequency channels. The method further includes receiving downlink signals from an associated base station using the second LO frequency value.

Apparatus comprises master counter circuitry to generate a master count signal in response to a clock signal; slave counter circuitry responsive to the clock signal to generate a respective slave count signal; and a synchronisation connection providing signal communication between the master counter circuitry and the slave counter circuitry; the master counter circuitry being configured to provide to the slave counter circuitry via the synchronisation connection: (i) data indicative of a count offset value and (ii) a timing signal defining a timing relationship between the clock signal and the count offset value; and the slave counter circuitry being configured, during a synchronisation operation for that slave counter circuitry, to initialise a counting operation of that slave counter circuitry in response to the data indicative of the count offset value and a timing signal provided by the master counter circuitry.

CLOCK FOR RECORDING DEVICES

A method includes receiving, by a recording device, an indication of an initializing time and receiving, by the recording device, an indication of a timing pace. The method also includes maintaining, by the recording device, an updated current time based on the initializing time and the timing pace and sensing, via a sensor of the recording device, a condition. The method further includes storing, in memory of the recording device, an indication of the condition and an associated indication of the updated current time. The indication of the updated current time corresponds to when the condition was sensed by the sensor.
