Polycube Games, Systems, and Methods
Polycube-based puzzles are disclosed. Three-dimensional Sudoku-like puzzles using polycubes of various sizes and dimensions, where the cubes making up each polycube have visually identifiable features on all sides such that sets of polycubes can be created to facilitate the Sudoku-like puzzle game. Polycube-based puzzles using sets of polycubes arranged in different configurations where each side of a resulting combination of a set of polycubes has no repeated visual identifier.
Systems and methods for collapsible structure applications
Collapsible structures may be formed from planar solids. The structures may be comprised of multiple planar objects hingedly connected, where each planar object may include magnetic materials (e.g., magnets, ferromagnetic metals) or electromagnetic materials. Using the magnetic or electromagnetic materials, the connected planar objects may be arranged as a single planar object with multiple layers, or may be arranged as a three-dimensional (3-D) object, where the magnetic or electromagnetic materials may be used to retain the formed 3-D object shape. Application of a current to the electromagnetic materials may cause the collapsible structure to form the 3-D object, and removal of the electric current may cause the collapsible structure to revert to a single planar object. Multiple structures may be combined to form larger structures.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL MAGNETIC CONSTRUCTION KIT-TOY
A spherical construction toy includes six segments consisting of a single outer convex surface and four inner concave surfaces, twelve segments consisting of a single outer convex surface, two inner convex surfaces, and two inner concave surfaces; and eight segments consisting of a single, outer convex surface and three inner convex surfaces. The segments are defined by the intersection of spherical surfaces having identical radius and disposed along Cartesian coordinate axes with the surface at the common center. The segments, when assembled in a base configuration with the outer surfaces disposed away from the common center, form a spherical assembly.
Multiple level jigsaw puzzle
A multiple level jigsaw puzzle comprised of varying thickness and irregular interlocking pieces which, when assembled, form an image with visible surfaces in relief relative to the tabular surface. The pieces have variable distinct surfaces and variable thickness with planar and/or textured surfaces to result in a raised relief 3D effect. The specific mix of individual pieces exhibiting variable thicknesses & distinct surfaces enhances enjoyment by adding strategic elements to puzzle assembly and optimizes the quality of the image.
Container utilizing angle elements
A container, including a number of angle elements. Each angle element includes a) a horizontal puzzle member including a male knob at one end and a female lock at the other end; and, b) a vertical member including a vertically extending male adjunct at one end thereof and a vertically extending female adjunct at the other end thereof, the vertical member being integrally orthogonally connected to the horizontal puzzle member. The angle elements are configurable, i.e. can be assembled, to form a container by: engagement of the male knobs of the plurality of angle elements with female locks of adjacent angle elements; and, engagement of the vertically extending male adjuncts of the angle elements with female adjuncts of adjacent angle elements. The container may include corner angle elements and additional types of angle elements such as intermediate angle elements, curved angle applications, L-shaped angle elements, etc.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL PUZZLE
A three-dimensional puzzle comprising a plurality of cuboid puzzle blocks together forming a predetermined three-dimensional puzzle shape, wherein each puzzle block comprises either a male or a female connecting element on each of at least three sides of the puzzle block; wherein the connecting elements for the respective puzzle block are configured such that each puzzle block is unique.
HANDHELD TOUCH APPARATUS WITH MOVABLE TACTILE FEATURES
A handheld touch apparatus for providing a variety of tactile sensations to the fingers and thumb of a hand of a user. The touch apparatus includes a multi-faceted block body having an outer surface defined by a plurality of planar faces joined together by radiused edges that meet together to form rounded corners. The block body is sized for holding within the palm of the user's hand and for being supported, rotated and manipulated by the fingers and thumb of the same hand. The touch apparatus further includes tactile features extending from the planar faces of the block body and that are selectively movable relative to their associated planar faces. The tactile features are contained within the volume of an imaginary sphere defined by the rounded corners and isolated from the tactile features on adjacent planar faces by the radiused edges of the block body.
Yoshimoto cube and polyhedron
A polyhedron (100) configured to be removably coupled by shape with another polyhedron (200) to form a Yoshimoto cube (1), such polyhedron (100) comprising: eight half-cubes (101, 102) equal to each other, each of which being delimited by three outer faces (1011, 1012, 1013), having a substantially square configuration, arranged orthogonally to each other whereby each outer face (1011, 1012, 1013) is delimited by two edges (10111, 10112) in common with the other outer faces (1012, 1013) and two free edges (10113, 10114), and by 6 inner faces (1014, 1015, 1016, 1017, 1018, 1019), having a substantially triangular configuration, wherein each inner face (1014, 1015, 1016, 1017, 1018, 1019) extends between a vertex (V), in common with the other inner faces of the half-cube (101), substantially coinciding with the geometric centre of a cube delimited by said three outer faces (1011, 1012, 1013), and a respective base, corresponding to a free edge (10113) between two free edges of one of said outer faces (1011, 1012, 1013); and eight hinge members (300), each configured to connect a free edge (10113, 10113′) of each half-cube (101, 101′) with a free edge (10113′, 10113) of another half-cube (101′, 101) adjacent thereto, wherein each hinge member (300) comprises at least one axis of rotation (301) around which the two half-cubes (101,101′) connected by such hinge member (300) may mutually move; characterized in that each hinge member (300) of such polyhedron (100): extends along each of the two free edges (10113, 10113′) of the two respective adjacent half-cubes (101, 101′) connected by the hinge member (300), starting from a same end of each free edge (10113, 10113′) of the two free edges and for an overall length lower than the length of each free edge (10113, 10113′), optionally substantially other than or equal to half the length of each free edge (10113, 10113′), defines an axis of rotation (301) parallel to each free edge (10113, 10113′), and allows a mutual angular movement between the two respective adjacent half-cubes (101, 101′) connected by it, comprised between a first configuration, wherein the outer faces delimited by the respective free edges (10113, 10113′), at which the connection with the hinge member (300) is made, match, and the corresponding portions of the respective free edges (10113, 10113′) which are not connected by the hinge member (<
