A lower body equestrian riding boot system for holding a riding spur includes a boot having one or more pockets located on an outer surface of a side and near one end of the boot, the pocket is configured to retain a free end of a riding spur yoke. A backstrap located on an outer surface of a back side and near the bottom of the boot has one end that is releasably attached to the boot and includes an aperture through which a neck of a riding spur projects. A concealed curved zipper extending beyond the front of a pocket. The pocket, the backstrap and the zipper cooperate to secure the riding spur to the boot, so that the spur can be easily attached, adjusted and/or removed from the boot, and so the boot can be removed from the foot with the spur still attached.

A shoe comprises a sole having an upper surface and a lower surface, and a top member having an outer surface and an inner surface and mounted on the sole. The top member and sole to together define a space for receiving a foot, and the top member further comprises an opening. A fastener is provided in the top member and extends from the opening and continues over the top member such that a portion of the top member is movable between a first position in which the space is substantially closed and a second position in which a portion of the top member is folded back from the sole to provide access to the space, and further comprising areas with controllable expansion to accommodate an ankle or foot brace.

A shoe comprises a sole having an upper surface and a lower surface, and a top member having an outer surface and an inner surface and mounted on the sole. The top member and sole to together define a space for receiving a foot, and the top member further comprises an opening. A fastener is provided in the top member and extends from the opening and continues over the top member such that a portion of the top member is movable between a first position in which the space is substantially closed and a second position in which a portion of the top member is folded back from the sole to provide access to the space, and further comprising areas with controllable expansion to accommodate an ankle or foot brace.

A footwear article includes (a) an upper having a tongue opening at a front thereof; (b) a gusseted tongue including a tongue panel positioned over the tongue opening and a pair of gussets attaching laterally opposite sides of the tongue panel to the upper; (c) a pair of tongue fasteners configured to selectively fasten and unfasten corresponding sides of the tongue panel to and from the upper; (d) a first lacing system on the upper and arranged for guiding lacing over the gusseted tongue and tongue fasteners when the sides of the tongue are fastened to the upper; and (e) a second lacing system on the tongue panel and arranged for guiding the lacing across the tongue panel clear of the tongue fasteners when the sides of the tongue panel are unfastened from the upper.

A footwear article includes (a) an upper having a tongue opening at a front thereof; (b) a gusseted tongue including a tongue panel positioned over the tongue opening and a pair of gussets attaching laterally opposite sides of the tongue panel to the upper; (c) a pair of tongue fasteners configured to selectively fasten and unfasten corresponding sides of the tongue panel to and from the upper; (d) a first lacing system on the upper and arranged for guiding lacing over the gusseted tongue and tongue fasteners when the sides of the tongue are fastened to the upper; and (e) a second lacing system on the tongue panel and arranged for guiding the lacing across the tongue panel clear of the tongue fasteners when the sides of the tongue panel are unfastened from the upper.

An article of footwear includes a sole structure and an upper. The upper is coupled to the sole structure so as to form a foot-receiving cavity therebetween. The upper comprises a first portion, a second portion, and an expandable panel disposed between the first portion and the second portion. The upper is movable between a compressed configuration and an expanded configuration. In the compressed configuration, the first portion and the second portion are coupled together at a location adjacent to the expandable panel and the expandable panel is collapsed. In the expanded configuration, the first portion and the second portion are spaced apart from each other at the location adjacent to the expandable panel and the expandable panel is exposed. One or more dimensions of the foot-receiving cavity are larger when the upper is in the expanded configuration than when the upper is in the compressed configuration.

Footwear is provided and comprises a bottom part comprising a sole and an integral rear upper section, and a separate top part comprising a front upper section. The parts are releasably connected to each other by a releasable fastener. Each part provides a fastener half and each fastener half has a start and an end. The rear upper section of the bottom part includes a heel cap portion. The top part comprises two ends at a rear part thereof and the ends are connected by a strap positioned between the start and end of the top half fastener, and a movable flap is provided and extends over the inside surface of at least part of the heel cap portion. The releasable fastener is a zipper fastener, in which each fastener half has a zipper track with a plurality of teeth, and the number of teeth on the halves is exactly the same.

Footwear is provided and comprises a bottom part comprising a sole and an integral rear upper section, and a separate top part comprising a front upper section. The parts are releasably connected to each other by a releasable fastener. Each part provides a fastener half and each fastener half has a start and an end. The rear upper section of the bottom part includes a heel cap portion. The top part comprises two ends at a rear part thereof and the ends are connected by a strap positioned between the start and end of the top half fastener, and a movable flap is provided and extends over the inside surface of at least part of the heel cap portion. The releasable fastener is a zipper fastener, in which each fastener half has a zipper track with a plurality of teeth, and the number of teeth on the halves is exactly the same.
