A human interface device (HID) is configured to communicate with a control system that can communicate with user mechanisms. The HID includes comprises an outer input component; an inner input component radially inward of the outer input component; and a central input component radially inward of the inner input component. The central input component is configured to display a menu list of user mechanism icons which correspond to respective user mechanisms. The inner input component is configured to select one of the user mechanism icons and thereby one of the respective user mechanisms. The outer input component is configured to control the respective user mechanism if the respective user mechanism employs audio.

Method of manufacturing a keyboard

Methods of making an electronic device and a keyboard are disclosed. One method including providing a flexible film; providing a first electrode underneath the flexible film, the first electrode coupled to a high voltage signal source; providing a second electrode located beneath the first electrode, the second electrode coupled to an input detector; providing a spacer configured to maintain at least a threshold distance between the first electrode and the second electrode; providing a piezoelectric actuator beneath the second electrode, a top surface of the piezoelectric actuator coupled to the second electrode, wherein contact between the first electrode and the second electrode couples the high voltage signal source to the input detector and the piezoelectric actuator; and providing a base plane beneath the piezoelectric actuator, the base plane coupled to a bottom surface of the piezoelectric actuator and a signal ground.

An operation input device includes an operation input unit that is configured to receive a tracing operation performed in a one-dimensional direction. The operation input unit includes a plurality of mechanical switches that are arranged side by side in an operation direction and each include an operation surface subjected to the tracing operation, the operation surface defining a curved surface along the operation direction.
