Control Device for a Vehicle Having an Automatically Opening And/Or Automatically Closing Panel
20190360257 · 2019-11-28 ·

A control device relates to a vehicle having an automatically opening and/or automatically closing lid with at least one control switch in the vicinity of the lid and with a programmable electronic control unit. The control switch may be operated arbitrarily contactlessly in the form of a proximity sensor and when operated generates an operation request signal which is an input signal to the control unit. The control unit is configured in such a manner that defined environmental conditions may be evaluated for the detection of a risk of salinity and humidity and that, given the presence of a risk of salt and water, an appropriate adaptation may be made to the evaluation of the operation request signal. Preferably, at least one outside temperature below a predefined threshold and information indicating the presence of moisture are defined as the environmental conditions to be evaluated for detecting the risk of salt and water.

LIGHTING WALL CONTROLLER HAVING TOUCH REJECTION CAPABILITY AND PROXIMITY DETECTION
20190281675 · 2019-09-12 ·

A lighting wall controller having a capability to reject user inputs at a surface of the wall controller and/or proximity detection in accordance with sensing signals received at locations on and near the wall controller. Programming configures a processor for proximity detection to detect a presence of a conductive object within a predetermined distance to the wall controller. The processor further determines whether user inputs correspond to touches at locations on the wall controller or user gestures near the wall controller to perform one of a plurality of defined lighting functions for a lighting system. When user inputs do not correspond to defined lighting functions, a number of the non-defined inputs is counted to provide an indicator of activity on the surface of the wall controller to activate a locked mode for a duration of the non-defined inputs.

Hand drying apparatus

A hand dryer that includes a capacitance-detection-type proximity sensor structure that detects a capacitance generated in a capacitance detection electrode to detect a presence or absence of an object to be detected, includes a plurality of capacitance-detection-type proximity sensor structures. While one of the capacitance-detection-type proximity sensor structures is in operation, an operation of at least another of the capacitance-detection-type proximity sensor structures is stopped to operate the capacitance-detection-type proximity sensor structures during different periods of time.

TOUCH DEVICE CAPABLE OF DETECTING TOUCH EVENTS THROUGH VIBRATION
20190107902 · 2019-04-11 ·

A touch device includes a cover plate, a first piezoelectric element, and a second piezoelectric element. The cover plate has a first surface and a second surface. The first piezoelectric element is disposed on the second surface of the cover plate. The second piezoelectric element is adjacent to the first piezoelectric element. The method for operating the touch device includes outputting a first detection voltage signal to the first piezoelectric element to cause the first piezoelectric element to vibrate, receiving a second detection voltage signal from the second piezoelectric element, and determining that a touch event on the first surface of the cover plate has occurred when an energy level of the second detection voltage signal is lower than a predetermined value. The first detection voltage signal has a specific frequency which can cause the greatest vibration of the first piezoelectric element.

A vehicular operation detecting apparatus includes: sensors provided side by side in a vehicle, and individually outputting detection signals that change when a detection target comes into contact with or approaches the sensors; a computing unit computing a ratio value which is a value of a ratio of a first detection signal to a second detection signal, which are detection signals of a first sensor and a second sensor that are one and another one of the sensors, respectively; an operational direction detection unit detecting a direction of movement of the detection target from the first sensor toward the second sensor if the computed ratio value decreases, and detecting the direction of movement from the second sensor toward the first sensor if the computed ratio value increases; and a drive control unit controlling the driving of an opening and closing body in accordance with the detected direction of movement.

Swipe and tap verification for entry system using swipe and tap touch switch

A system and method for providing access to a vehicle operation includes a first user-input interface, a second user-input interface, and a vehicle controller. The first user-input interface is configured to interact with a user via a swipe-up input. The second user-input interface is configured to interact with the user via an application independent of the swipe-up input. The vehicle controller is configured to control the vehicle operation in response to detecting a first swipe-type user-input via the first user-input interface and a second user-input via the second user-input interface within a predetermined time.

Aerosol generating device sensing contact of user to activate heater and operation method thereof

An aerosol generating device includes a battery, a capacitive sensor, a controller, a first conductive element, a second conductive element, and a heater, wherein the controller is configured to control power supplied from the battery to the heater based on an order of a first time point at which the capacitive sensor senses contact of a user through the first conductive element and a second time point at which the capacitive sensor senses contact of the user through the second conductive element.
