A corresponding restocking method is also disclosed.
TOUCH CONTROL HUMAN MACHINE INTERFACE
A touch control human-machine interface for use in controlling operation of a machine, said interface including: an interface housing; a cover plate disposed on an outer-surface of the housing, said cover plate having a first electrically-conductive portion configured for touch interaction by a user's finger; a circuit assembly disposed within the housing, said circuit assembly including a circuit board having a second electrically-conductive portion and a light illumination module operably-connected thereto; a spacer element disposed between and separating the first conductive portion from the second conductive portion such that the first conductive portion, the second conductive portion and the spacer element are configured to form a capacitor device that is operably-connected with the circuit assembly; said first electrically-conductive portion being configured for deformation by the user's finger so as to cause a change in capacitance across the capacitor device, and whereby responsive to said change in capacitance, the circuit assembly is configured for generating a control signal for controlling operation of the machine, and, for controlling the light illumination module to propagate a light emission from the circuit assembly through the housing and cover plate so as to be visible externally of the housing.

Device having integrated interface system
A portable computer includes a display portion comprising a display and a base portion pivotally coupled to the display portion. The base portion may include a bottom case and a top case, formed from a dielectric material, coupled to the bottom case. The top case may include a top member defining a top surface of the base portion and a sidewall integrally formed with the top member and defining a side surface of the base portion. The portable computer may also include a sensing system including a first sensing system configured to determine a location of a touch input applied to the top surface of the base portion and a second sensing system configured to determine a force of the touch input.
Keyboard with Touch Sensor and Illumination
A keyboard may be provided that has keys overlapped by a touch sensor. The keyboard may have key sensor circuitry for monitoring switching in the keys for key press input. The keyboard may also have touch sensor circuitry such as capacitive touch sensor circuitry that monitors capacitive electrodes in the touch sensor for touch sensor input such as multitouch gesture input. The keyboard may include an outer layer of fabric that overlaps the keys. The fabric may have openings that are arranged to form alphanumeric characters. Light sources may emit light that passes through the openings and illuminates the alphanumeric characters. The touch sensor may have signal lines that are not visible through the openings. The signal lines may be transparent, may be covered by a diffuser, or may circumvent the openings so that they do not overlap.
Voice-assisted restocking method and system
A voice-assisted restocking system includes: a first compartment for storing a plurality of consumable items; a restocking suggestion unit that is configured to receive voice-based restocking suggestions from a remotely located digital assistant server over a network communication interface; a voice output interface configured to output the voice-based restocking suggestions to a user; and a first hardware button that is located in the interior of the first compartment, wherein the first hardware button is configured to: after a first voice-based restocking suggestion from the digital assistant is output by the voice output interface, prompt the user to provide a confirmation input regarding the first voice-based restocking suggestion; and send a respective confirmation signal to the remotely located digital assistant when the first hardware button is activated by the user. A corresponding voice-assisted restocking method is also disclosed.

Operating element and appliance provided therewith
A domestic appliance has an operating element, the operating element comprising a carrier, at least one pressure sensor configured for detection of an operation of the operating element, and at least one light source. A control is configured to switch the light source on or off subject to a sensor signal coming from the pressure sensor. At least one light conductor is arranged close to the light source and is configured to conduct light from the light source to at least a side of the light conductor remote from the carrier. Provided on or close to the side of the light conductor remote from the carrier is a screen comprising at least one opaque part and at least one translucent part, which together form a symbol.
Light integrated sensing membrane
Embodiments are directed to a sensing membrane that is coupled with electrical terminals of a key switch and a light source. This may allow the membrane to be both configured to transmit a signal in response to actuation of keyboard key cap and illuminate an illuminable symbol of key cap. In one aspect, the membrane includes a set of deformable layers separated by a spacer layer. Terminals of the key switch are connected to distinct ones of the set of deformable layers and positioned within a cavity defined by the spacer layer. A light assembly may be positioned along and configured to move with one of the set of deformable layers. Depression of a key cap toward the set of deformable layers causes the set of terminals to move and initiate a switch event.
