20230318620 · 2023-10-05 ·

Embodiments of the present disclosure include a digital circuit and method for compressing input digital values. A plurality of input digital values may include zero values and non-zero values. The input digital values are received on M inputs of a first switching stage. The first switching stage is arranged in groups that rearrange the non-zero values on first switching stage outputs according to a compression and shift. The compression and shift position the non-zero values on outputs coupled to inputs of a second switching stage. The second switching stage consecutively couples non-zero values to N outputs, where N is less than M.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DATA COMPACTION AND SECURITY USING MULTIPLE ENCODING ALGORITHMS WITH PRE-CODING AND COMPLEXITY ESTIMATION

A system and method for encoding data using a plurality of encoding libraries with pre-coding and complexity estimation. Portions of the data are encoded by different encoding libraries, depending on which library provides the greatest compaction for a given portion of the data. This methodology not only provides substantial improvements in data compaction over use of a single data compaction algorithm with the highest average compaction, but provides substantial additional security in that multiple decoding libraries must be used to decode the data. In some embodiments, each portion of data may further be encoded using different data block sizes, providing further security enhancements as decoding requires multiple decoding libraries and knowledge of the data block size used for each portion of the data. In some embodiments, encoding libraries may be randomly or pseudo-randomly rotated to provide additional security.

According to one embodiment, a data decompression device decodes a code included in compressed data into a symbol. The data decompression device includes a first code length generation unit and a second code length generation unit. The first code length generation unit generates a first code length of a first code included in the compressed data by arithmetic calculation. The second code length generation unit generates a second code length of a second code by using a table. The second code is included in the compressed data. The second code is subsequent to the first code. The table indicates at least the first code and the second code length that is associated with the first code.

Flexible hardware for high throughput vector dequantization with dynamic vector length and codebook size

The performance of a neural network (NN) and/or deep neural network (DNN) can limited by the number of operations being performed as well as memory data management of a NN/DNN. Using vector quantization of neuron weight values, the processing of data by neurons can be optimize the number of operations as well as memory utilization to enhance the overall performance of a NN/DNN. Operatively, one or more contiguous segments of weight values can be converted into one or more vectors of arbitrary length and each of the one or more vectors can be assigned an index. The generated indexes can be stored in an exemplary vector quantization lookup table and retrieved by exemplary fast weight lookup hardware at run time on the fly as part of an exemplary data processing function of the NN as part of an inline de-quantization operation to obtain needed one or more neuron weight values.

Backward-compatible integration of high frequency reconstruction techniques for audio signals

A method for decoding an encoded audio bitstream is disclosed. The method includes receiving the encoded audio bitstream and decoding the audio data to generate a decoded lowband audio signal. The method further includes extracting high frequency reconstruction metadata and filtering the decoded lowband audio signal with an analysis filterbank to generate a filtered lowband audio signal. The method also includes extracting a flag indicating whether either spectral translation or harmonic transposition is to be performed on the audio data and regenerating a highband portion of the audio signal using the filtered lowband audio signal and the high frequency reconstruction metadata in accordance with the flag.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DATA COMPACTION AND SECURITY WITH EXTENDED FUNCTIONALITY

A system and method for highly efficient encoding of data that includes extended functionality for asymmetric encoding/decoding and network policy enforcement. In the case of asymmetric encoding/decoding the original data is encoded by an encoder according to a codebook and sent to a decoder, but the output of the decoder depends on data manipulation rules applied at the decoding stage to transform the decoded data into a different data set from the original data. In the case of network policy enforcement, a behavior appendix into the codebook, such that the encoder and/or decoder at each node of the network comply with network behavioral rules, limits, and policies during encoding and decoding.

A decompression apparatus comprises a number of stages including: a first stage which always reads a binary symbol from a first stage indicator file for each symbol which is to be decoded; one or more mid stages which conditionally read a binary symbol from successive indicator files based on the value of the last symbol read from a previous indicator file; and a final stage which conditionally reads a symbol from a reduced file based on the value of the last symbol read from the last stage indicator file.

Decompression of a file

Embodiments include performing decompression of a file. Aspects include receiving a compressed input stream for the file and processing the compressed input stream, by two or more pipelines in parallel, to create an output vector, wherein each pipeline includes a first decoder and a second decoder. Aspects also include writing, by each of the two or more pipelines, entries onto a scratchpad in an order defined by the output vector and writing one or more entries from the scratchpad to a main history buffer based on a determination that a validity field of the one or more entries has a value of true.

TECHNIQUES TO CONTROL SYSTEM UPDATES AND CONFIGURATION CHANGES VIA THE CLOUD

Embodiments are generally directed apparatuses, methods, techniques and so forth determine an access level of operation based on an indication received via one or more network links from a pod management controller, and enable or disable a firmware update capability for a firmware device based on the access level of operation, the firmware update capability to change firmware for the firmware device. Embodiments may also include determining one or more configuration settings of a plurality of configuration settings to enable for configuration based on the access level of operation, and enable configuration of the one or more configuration settings.
