MULTI-THREADED CABAC DECODING
A method, system, and computer readable medium for improved decoding CABAC encoded media are described. A decoding loop includes decoding an encoded binary element from a sequence of encoded binary elements to generate a decoded binary element using a context probability. A next context probability for a next encoded binary element in the sequence is determined from the decoded binary element and the next context probability for decoding the next encoded binary element is provided to the decoding loop for a next iteration.
CHAN framework, CHAN coding and CHAN code
A framework and the associated method, schema and design for processing digital data, whether random or not, through encoding and decoding losslessly and correctly for purposes including the purposes of encryption/decryption or compression/decompression or both. There is no assumption of the digital information to be processed before processing. An universal coder is invented and now pigeonhole meets blackhole.
Control apparatus, program update system, and program update method
A control apparatus includes a reception unit which receives distribution data which contains compressed update data and a header which includes information to designate any one of a plurality of update systems, a decompression unit which decompresses the update data from the distribution data received by the reception unit, and a restoration unit which restores a new program after updating according to an update system designated in the header using the update data decompressed by the decompression unit. The decompression unit switches a decompression method when the update data is decompressed on the basis of the update system designated in the header.
Methods and apparatus to parallelize data decompression
Methods and apparatus to parallelize data decompression are disclosed. An example method selecting initial starting positions in a compressed data bitstream; adjusting a first one of the initial starting positions to determine a first adjusted starting position by decoding the bitstream starting at a training position in the bitstream, the decoding including traversing the bitstream from the training position as though first data located at the training position is a valid token; outputting first decoded data generated by decoding a first segment of the bitstream starting from the first adjusted starting position; and merging the first decoded data with second decoded data generated by decoding a second segment of the bitstream, the decoding of the second segment starting from a second position in the bitstream and being performed in parallel with the decoding of the first segment, and the second segment preceding the first segment in the bitstream.
Technologies for switching network traffic in a data center
Technologies for switching network traffic include a network switch. The network switch includes one or more processors and communication circuitry coupled to the one or more processors. The communication circuitry is capable of switching network traffic of multiple link layer protocols. Additionally, the network switch includes one or more memory devices storing instructions that, when executed, cause the network switch to receive, with the communication circuitry through an optical connection, network traffic to be forwarded, and determine a link layer protocol of the received network traffic. The instructions additionally cause the network switch to forward the network traffic as a function of the determined link layer protocol. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
Encoding device and method, decoding device and method, and program
The present technology relates to an encoding device and method, a decoding device and method, and a program, which are adapted to be capable of improving convenience. The decoding device is provided with: a decoding unit that decodes audio data including an object audio, the audio data being included in an encoded bit stream, and reads metadata of the object audio from an area in which arbitrary data of the encoded bit stream can be stored; and an output unit that outputs the decoded audio data on the basis of the metadata. The present technology can be applied to the decoding device.
Hardware Implementable Data Compression/Decompression Algorithm
A hardware implementable lossless data compression decompression algorithm is disclosed, where the input data string is described in term of consecutive groups of alternating same type bits, where one of these groups of same type bits is defined as a preferred group with the other groups having either lower or higher number of same type bits, where the data string is partitioned into variable length processing strings where the variable length is determined by the occurrence of the preferred group or of a determined number of bits consisting of groups of lower number of same type bits, where these variable length processing strings are processed function of the configuration and content of each processing string only, where consecutive processing strings are additionally processed based on their content only, where processing is performed in a loop until a certain target performance is achieved, where processing is done without any data analysis, and where no negative compression gain is achieved for any content of an input string.
BACKWARD-COMPATIBLE INTEGRATION OF HIGH FREQUENCY RECONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES FOR AUDIO SIGNALS
A method for decoding an encoded audio bitstream is disclosed. The method includes receiving the encoded audio bitstream and decoding the audio data to generate a decoded lowband audio signal. The method further includes extracting high frequency reconstruction metadata and filtering the decoded lowband audio signal with an analysis filterbank to generate a filtered lowband audio signal. The method also includes extracting a flag indicating whether either spectral translation or harmonic transposition is to be performed on the audio data and regenerating a highband portion of the audio signal using the filtered lowband audio signal and the high frequency reconstruction metadata in accordance with the flag.
HARDWARE CHANNEL-PARALLEL DATA COMPRESSION/DECOMPRESSION
A multichannel data packer includes a plurality of two-input multiplexers and a controller. The plurality of two-input multiplexers is arranged in 2.sup.N rows and N columns in which N is an integer greater than 1. Each input of a multiplexer in a first column receives a respective bit stream of 2.sup.N channels of bit streams. Each respective bit stream includes a bit-stream length based on data in the bit stream. The multiplexers in a last column output 2.sup.N channels of packed bit streams each having a same bit-stream length. The controller controls the plurality of multiplexers so that the multiplexers in the last column output the 2.sup.N channels of bit streams that each has the same bit-stream length.
