APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CRYPTOGRAPHIC OPERATIONS USING ENHANCED KNOWLEDGE FACTOR CREDENTIALS
20180034802 · 2018-02-01 ·

Provided is a process that includes: authenticating a user based on a sequence of transactions that specify a knowledge factor credential where the knowledge-factor credential is lower entropy than the sequence of user-entered transactions, such that possession of the fully entered knowledge-factor credential, without possession of the sequence of user-entered transactions, does not reveal all of the user-entered transactions by which the fully entered knowledge-factor credential was specified by the user.

A recording medium having stored therein an encoding program that causes a computer to execute a process, the process including first generating a plurality of word codes by assigning a compression code to each of a plurality of words contained in a sentence in a compression target document, second generating a plurality of pieces of semantic structure information respectively corresponding to the plurality of words by performing a semantic analysis of the sentence, third generating a plurality of semantic structure codes by assigning each of the plurality of compression codes to corresponding semantic structure information, and outputting the plurality of word codes and the plurality of semantic structure codes with a specific order.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COMPRESSION AND DECOMPRESSION OF TEXT DATA

The present disclosure relates to system(s) and method(s) for compression and decompression of Unicode characters. The system is configured to maintain a set of character tables and a cluster table in a memory. Each character table is configured to store a set of Unicode characters corresponding to a character class of a set of characters classes, wherein each Unicode character from the character table is assigned with a shortened bit representation. Furthermore, the cluster table may be configured to maintain a set of cluster types and a cluster identifier corresponding to each of the cluster type. The system is configured to compress text data in Unicode format using the set of character tables and the cluster table by identifying the different clusters in each word and replacing the clusters with cluster identifier followed by the shorten bit representation of characters in each cluster.

System and method for matching a regular expression or combination of characters

A system and method for comparing a character from a search space simultaneously to each of a set of search characters. The set of search characters may correspond to a regular expression. In one embodiment, the search space character is encoded to a short binary presentation (e.g., to an 8-bit representation), which is then converted to a long binary representation one bit of which is set, at a first position in the long binary representation corresponding to the value of the short representation. Each character of the set of search characters is similarly encoded and converted to a respective long binary representation. If the bit in one of the long binary representations corresponding to the set of search characters is set, it indicates that the search character matches the corresponding character of the set of search characters.

Provided is a process that includes: obtaining a multi-byte character set specifying a plurality of characters; receiving a knowledge factor credential encoded with a plurality of characters of the multi-byte character set, wherein the knowledge factor credential has a longer effective length than an apparent length, and wherein the knowledge factor credential has at least one character outside of a block of characters designated for a locale of the computing device; and providing the knowledge factor credential to authenticate a user.

EFFICIENT CHARACTER COUNTING FOR VARIABLE LENGTH ENCODING FORMATS

Technologies and solutions are also provided for determining a number of characters in encoded data, particularly for encoding formats that have variable byte lengths. Bytes in the encoding format can have different types, including at least one type that represents a continuation byte. That is, rather than having all data for a character being in a single byte, the data is encoded using two or more bytes. The number of continuation bytes can be counted and subtracted from a total number of bytes in a data set to determine the number of characters in the data set. Optionally, the validity of the data set with respect to an encoding format can be determined prior to, or concurrently with, determining a number of characters in the data set. SIMD techniques can be used with the character counting/validation processes to improve their performance.
