HIGH LINEARITY MODES IN WIRELESS RECEIVERS
Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to techniques and apparatus for operating a wireless receiver of the apparatus in a high linearity mode. An example method includes operating the apparatus in a first mode with transmission of a plurality of transmit signals. The method also includes attenuating a received signal via an attenuator while operating the apparatus in the first mode. The method further includes amplifying the attenuated signal with an amplifier while operating the apparatus in the first mode. For certain aspects, the method further involves operating the apparatus in a second mode, bypassing the attenuator while operating the apparatus in the second mode, and amplifying the received signal with the amplifier while operating the apparatus in the second mode.
Hybrid Radar with Reconfigurable Filters
An electronic device may include wireless circuitry with one or more antennas that transmit radio-frequency signals and that receive corresponding reflected signals. The wireless circuitry may detect a range to an external object based on the transmitted and received signals. The wireless circuitry may include a receive path having a mixer, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), and a filter between the mixer and the ADC. The receive path may include a bypass path with a switch coupled around the filter. The wireless circuitry may detect the range to the external object within an ultra-short range (USR) domain when the switch is closed, thereby bypassing the filter in the receive path. The wireless circuitry may detect the range to the external object within a far-field domain when the switch is open. The filter may filter the reflected signals to remove undesired leakage and maximize dynamic range.
TRANSMITTER DEVICE SUPPORTING ANTENNA DIVERSITY
A transmitter comprises an antenna array demultiplexor having a first input for an output signal, a second input for a control signal, a first output coupled to a first output pin, and a second output coupled to a second output pin. The antenna array demultiplexor provides the output signal to the first or second output based on the control signal. The first and second output pins are coupled to first and second antennae, respectively. In some implementations, the transmitter includes a transformer and a capacitor coupled in parallel between the first and second output pins, and the antenna array demultiplexor comprises a first switch coupled between the first output pin and a first ground pin, and a second switch coupled between the second output pin and a second ground pin. The first switch receives a second control signal, and the second switch receives an inverse of the second control signal.
