DEVICE AND METHOD OF PROVIDING SOCIAL NETWORK SERVICE WITH CLICK
Provided are a mobile device and method of providing a social networking service (SNS) with one click. The method includes: receiving an identifier regarding the external device and an identifier regarding a user input that is input to the external device, from the external device; transmitting the identifier regarding the external device and the identifier regarding the user input to a server; receiving content about the external device and the user input from the server, based on the identifier regarding the external device and the identifier regarding the user input; and displaying the received content on a screen.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATION OF PERSONALIZED MAINTENANCE TASKS WITH BUILT-IN SIMULATION AND DATA SYNCHRONIZATION SUPPORT IN ENERGY DISTRIBUTION INDUSTRY OR OTHER INDUSTRY
A method and apparatus perform automation of personalized maintenance tasks with built-in simulation and data synchronization support in the energy distribution industry or other industry. A mobile device includes a transceiver and at least one processing device. The transceiver is configured to communicate with a field device. The at least one processing device is configured to detect a presence of the field device. The at least one processing device is also configured to execute multiple maintenance tasks associated with the field device in response to detecting the presence of the field device. The at least one processing device is also configured to generate a dashboard and present the dashboard on the mobile device. The dashboard displays results of the maintenance tasks to a user.
METHOD, SECOND SERVER AND SYSTEM FOR MANAGING ACCESS TO A FIRST SERVER
A method for managing access to a first server comprises intercepting a message including a connection request, for connecting to the first server. The message is sent at an initiative of a secure element, to the first server. A filtering rule, based upon a predetermined threshold relating to a rate or a number of connection requests, as a first filtering criterion, is accessed. The filtering rule comprises a second filtering criterion. A counter is modified for each intercepted message. The counter is compared to the predetermined threshold and, if the counter is equal to or greater than the predetermined threshold and the second filtering criterion is satisfied, a message including predefined output data is sent to the secure element. The output data controls or filters a session between the secure element and the first server.
IN-FIELD WIRELESS ACCESS TO SMART INSTRUMENTS USING BLUETOOTH LOW ENERGY
This disclosure provides various ways to enable a BLUETOOTH Low Energy (BLE) communication capability for a field instrument. An apparatus is configured to perform a method for providing BLE communication capability to a legacy field instrument in an industrial control system. The method includes receiving, by a BLE adapter coupled to the field instrument, information from the field instrument according to a protocol that is native to the field instrument. The method includes converting, by the BLE adapter, the information into a BLE communication protocol. The method includes transmitting, by the BLE adapter, the converted information to an external device over a BLE communication link.
UTILIZATION OF A MULTI-TOUCH SMARTPHONE DISPLAY AS A TRACK PAD IN A MOTOR VEHICLE
A multi-touch smartphone display used as a track pad in a motor vehicle is provided. A system includes a handheld device having a multi-touch display, a vehicle controller that transmits and receives data from the handheld device when the handheld device is docked into the vehicle, and a display that is mounted within the vehicle. The docked handheld device functions as a track pad to receive user input. The display is configured to display vehicle functions and applications on the handheld device. The vehicle controller is configured to transmit one or more commands to one or more vehicle components based on the received user input to execute the command.
Gesture activated close-proximity communication
A system for establishing a link from a wireless communication device (WCD) to at least one target device that is a member of a particular user group. The process of both locating the target device and establishing a link may incorporate the orientation and/or movement of the WCD into the procedure in lieu of the extensive use of traditional menu interfaces. For example, a WCD may recognize a combination of orientation and/or movement changes as a pattern for triggering activities, such as scanning for other devices. Various movement patterns may also be employed to establish a wireless link and for further interaction between users/devices in a user group.
Consumer good multimedia system
What is presented is a multimedia system for incorporation with a consumer good. The system comprises one or more stereo speakers; a memory for the storage of one or more data files; a power supply coupled to power the one or more stereo speakers; and a switch coupled to temporarily cutoff power from said power supply to said one or more stereo speakers.
WIRELESS AUDIO ACCESSORY
Various embodiments include a device that implements a high bandwidth wireless data interface for communication between the device and a device accessory. The device can include an external shell and a display (e.g., a touchscreen). In some embodiments, the external shell and the display together hermetically seal various other components of the device. In various embodiments, the device includes an attachment mechanism, an alignment mechanism (e.g., for magnetic alignment between a device and a device accessory), a wireless data transceiver, and a wired or wireless energy source (e.g., for sharing power between the device and the device accessory). The wireless data transceiver can transmit data at extremely high electromagnetic frequencies between the device in the device accessory.
IDENTIFYING USERS OF CLIENT DEVICES FOR TRACKING USER INTERACTIONS WITH CONTENT DISTRIBUTED BY CONTENT PROVIDER SYSTEMS
An online system tracks identities of users that interact with the online system. The online system sends a browser identifier for storing on a client device that interacts with the online system. The browser identifier uniquely identifies a browser of the client device used for interacting with the online system. A content provider system receives the browser identifier from the client device and uses the browser identifier for logging user actions associated with content provided by the content provider system. The content provider system sends user action logs to the online system and the online system determines users that used the client device at a timestamp associated with the user action log. The online system provides the user identifiers to the content provider system. The content provider system uses the user identifiers to generate reports.
TECHNOLOGIES AND METHODS FOR POSITION SENSING
The present application relates to devices and components including apparatus, systems, and methods to identify resources for body position sensing and utilize the resources for body position sensing operations via user equipment of a wireless communication system.
