Measurement system and measurement method

A measurement system and method tests for spurious emissions included in a signal transmitted from a mobile terminal in a shorter time than before. The system includes: a band division unit for dividing the measurement frequency band into a plurality of divided bands; a first spurious measurement control unit which causes a measurement device to measure the spurious emissions of the signal to be measured in each divided band and the peak power of the spear in each divided band; and a first pass/fail determination unit that determines whether or not pass determination criteria is satisfied. The first pass/fail determination unit determines whether the peak power does not exceed the threshold of the pass determination criteria in each divided band. The threshold value of the pass determination criteria is lower than the threshold of the standard determination criteria defined by the 3GPP standard.

A method and an apparatus for evaluating transmission impairments of a multiplexing converter. According to the method, impairments of a multiplexing converter are equivalent to the equivalent multiplicative noise and the equivalent additive noise, so as to allow evaluation of transmission impairments of the multiplexing converter, thereby to allow evaluation of the performance of a communication system. The multiplexing converter is a multiplexing analog-to-digital converter, or a multiplexing digital-to-analog converter. According to the present application, impairments of a multiplexing converter can be evaluated accurately, the performance evaluation of a communication system using the multiplexing converter is given, without being affected by an amplitude, a modulation format and a transmission rate of an input signal.

Beam failure declaration and reporting

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for signaling mechanisms associated with reporting information associated with multiple beam failure indicator (BFI) types via a beam failure detection (BFD) report. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may measure a periodic reference signal as part of a BFD procedure and may report a BFI if the UE measures that the reference signal fails to satisfy a threshold signal strength or quality. The UE may further detect or classify each reported BFI as one of multiple BFI types and may store information associated with respective numbers of the multiple BFI types in accordance with the detection or classification. In scenarios in which the UE declares beam failure, the UE may transmit a BFD report including the information associated with the respective numbers of the multipole BFI types.

Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer products for cell quality measurements of for cellular internet of things (IOT) systems provided, including for cellular narrow-band IOT (NBIOT) systems and machine type communication (MTC) systems. For example, an IOT device may determine these cell quality measurements to select a serving cell to use for connecting to a cellular network. The cell quality measurements may include channel estimation that is used to generate an RSRP, RSRQ, and Noise Variance estimation. In various embodiments, and based on the cell quality measurements, an IOT device may rank a plurality of cells and select a top ranked cell for providing cellular service.

Signal strength prediction based on line of sight analysis

Architectures and techniques are presented that can provide point-to-point analysis to generate an improved signal strength prediction (SSP) based on, e.g., earth surface image data processing and analysis to draw conclusions of line of sight (LOS) along the propagation path between a BTS or another AP transmitter and CPE receiver. For example, USGS image data and/or elevation data of locations are identified to correspond to signal propagation between the transmitter and receiver can be analyzed for LOS signal quality at a fixed location, in addition to the statistical model prediction of the RF signal quality. As a result, foliage or terrain that obstructs the LOS can be identified and utilized to improve SSP by eliminating the additional pathloss due to LOS obstructions. Such can provide a significant improvement to SSP results that are conventionally predicted by statistical models rather than a point-to-point analysis.

WLAN Sensing Measurement Report Regarding Receiver SNR

Techniques pertaining to wireless local area network (WLAN) sensing measurement report regarding receive (Rx) signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in wireless communications are described. A sensing receiver is configured to perform a sensing measurement and generate a sensing measurement report. The sensing measurement report includes an Rx_SNR subfield indicating a Rx signal quality used in a channel state information (CSI) estimation.

A computer-readable storage medium stores instructions to configure a UE for NR positioning in a 5G NR network, and to cause the UE to perform operations including decoding configuration signaling received from a location and management function (LMF) node of the 5GNR network. The configuration signaling includes a positioning reference signal (PRS) measurement configuration. A number of measurement samples per a successful measurement reporting can be indicated by the PRS measurement configuration which depends on a specific conditions (e.g., PRS bandwidth, propagation channel, and SINR). A PRS received from a base station is decoded. Downlink PRS (DL-PRS) positioning measurements is performed based on the PRS. The DL-PRS positioning measurements are encoded for transmission to the LMF node using the number of measurement samples.

The current communication path is either an indirect communication type through at least one relay UE device or a direct communication type without relay UE devices. The conditional path switch reconfiguration message instructs the remote UE device to switch from the current communication path to an alternate communication path when a condition is met. The alternate communication path is a different communication type from the current communication type of the current communication path.
