LONG PREAMBLE AND DUTY CYCLE BASED COEXISTENCE MECHANISM FOR POWER LINE COMMUNICATION (PLC) NETWORKS
Embodiments of methods and systems for supporting coexistence of multiple technologies in a Power Line Communication (PLC) network are disclosed. A long coexistence preamble sequence may be transmitted by a device that has been forced to back off the PLC channel multiple times. The long coexistence sequence provides a way for the device to request channel access from devices on the channel using other technology. The device may transmit a data packet after transmitting the long coexistence preamble sequence. A network duty cycle time may also be defined as a maximum allowed duration for nodes of the same network to access the channel. When the network duty cycle time occurs, all nodes will back off the channel for a duty cycle extended inter frame space before transmitting again. The long coexistence preamble sequence and the network duty cycle time may be used together.
COEXISTENCE COMMUNICATION METHOD FOR LOW-POWER BROADBAND COMMUNICATION AND SYSTEM THEREOF
A coexistence communication method for broadband power line communication that allocates a resource of another heterogeneous system to a blank resource in data where a plurality of heterogeneous systems are allocated to time division multiplex units (TDMUs) in a distribution scheme and a system therefor are provided. The method includes detecting a blank resource according to a heterogeneous system which does not share a power line among a plurality of heterogeneous systems, from data in which the plurality of heterogeneous systems which share the power line to perform power line communication are allocated to a plurality of TDMUs and in which each TDMU is allocated to a plurality of time division multiplex slots (TDMSs) sorted over time in a distribution scheme and allocating added another heterogeneous system to the blank resource.
Indoor Power Line Transmission Control System
An indoor power line transmission control system, includes: a transforming dimming controller (1), which is used to load, onto an electrical signal, a received dimming signal sent by a mobile terminal or input by a user in a touch-control manner, and send the electrical signal loaded with the dimming signal to a dimming driver (2); and the dimming driver, which is electrically connected with the transforming dimming controller and a dimming luminaire (3), and used to read the electrical signal loaded with the dimming signal, and adjust a gray scale of the dimming luminaire according to the read electrical signal. By replacing a normal switch with the transforming dimming controller and by using the dimming driver and transmitting the dimming signal to the dimming luminaire by means of a power line, flexibility of having no wiring, simple extension and smart dimming are realized and energy can be saved.
COEXISTENCE PRIMITIVES IN POWER LINE COMMUNICATION NETWORKS
Systems and methods for setting a carrier-sensing mechanism in a PLC node are disclosed. In a PLC standard, coexistence is achieved by having the nodes detect a common preamble and backing off by a Coexistence InterFrame Space (cEIFS) time period to help the node to avoid interfering with the other technologies. In one embodiment, a PHY primitive is sent from the PHY to the MAC know that there has been a preamble detection. A two-level indication may be usedone indication after receiving the preamble and other indication after decoding the entire frame. The MAC sets the carrier-sensing mechanism based on the preamble detection.
Method of communicating information and corresponding device and system
A communication circuit supports a first communication protocol and a second communication protocol that is different from the first communication protocol. A number of signals include first signals conveying first information messages and second signals conveying second information messages. The first information messages include a repetitive message having fixed repeated content and the second information messages include a non-repetitive message having variable content. The first signals and the second signals are transmitted via the communication circuit using the first communication protocol for the first signals and the second communication protocol for the second signals.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUTHENTICATION AND IDENTITY MANAGEMENT OF COMMUNICATING DEVICES
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a network device that accesses internet protocol addresses associated with a group of end point devices where the network device is a closest network device to the group of end point devices, and transmitting data to another network device responsive to a determination that an internet protocol address associated with the data from an end point device is one of the internet protocol addresses associated with the group of end point devices. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Method for transmission in an extended band between two neighbouring devices of a network
A method for transmitting data in a power line communication network, the method being executed in a network node device configured so as to communicate in a plurality of separate frequency bands with a second network node device, the method comprising steps for selecting a transmission mode for transmitting in a frequency band called extended frequency band comprising at least two separate frequency bands chosen from among the plurality of separate frequency bands; distributing data to be transmitted in the extended frequency band into a plurality of groups of data, each group being assigned to just one of the at least two separate frequency bands; and transmitting the data in each of the plurality of groups of data in the separate frequency band to which the group is assigned, the step for distributing the data being carried out by a data interleaver.
Electric vehicle charging system and method thereof for providing diagnostic services
The present invention presents a method providing an additional service during electric vehicle charging by (a) the electric vehicle charger (200) detecting connection with an electric vehicle (100) via a charging cable; (b) the electric vehicle charger (200) exchanging charging messages through a charging port in a PLC modem, when the connection is detected in step (a); and (c) the electric vehicle charger (200) providing an additional service for the electric vehicle once the charging begins, and therefore, providing additional services such as software updates, vehicle contents updates requested by a driver during the charging of the electric vehicle, and thus providing convenience for the car owners without visiting car diagnostic service center.
TRANSIENT AND SPURIOUS SIGNAL FILTER
An improved filter for communications over a power bus may provide immunity to or minimize the effect of voltage spikes on a power line and/or may filter a power line signal with high pass and low pass filters to allow communicative signal reception on noisy power lines, and/or may filter a communicative signal transmitted from a radio modem with low pass filters to prevent high frequency harmonics and spurious signals from being conducted into and thereafter radiated from the power line.
