Power supply device and method, and program

A control unit controls a reader/writer to generate a vehicle ID read signal that is formed of a high frequency signal and used to read a vehicle ID recorded in an ID circuit, and supply the signal to a high-pass filter. The read signal or a write signal formed of the high frequency signal is superimposed on a power supply line and supplied to the high-pass filter. The high-pass filter supplies the vehicle ID read signal formed of the high frequency signal to the ID circuit. On the basis of the read signal, the ID circuit reads the vehicle ID stored in an IC built in the own circuit and transmits it as a response signal to a charger along a reverse path. An authentication part of the control unit turns on a selector switch when the vehicle ID being the response signal is determined to be legitimate.

The control circuitry module group comprises: a bus; a bus control module coupled to the master control module and the bus, configured to receive a control signal from the master control module, add a target address in the control signal, and send to the bus the control signal with the target address; and at least one slave control modules each coupled to a corresponding slave module and the bus, respectively, and configured to receive the control signal with the target address via the bus, and controlling power supply to the slave module in response to the control signal.

Devices and methods for power consumption control in powerline communications systems and apparatus

The present disclosure includes systems and techniques relating to power line communications (PLC) systems and apparatus. In some implementations, a method includes determining information regarding a potential data rate to be used with a powerline communications (PLC) channel, reducing a bias current or voltage of an analog front end of a PLC transceiver based on the determined information to reduce power consumption of the analog front end of the PLC transceiver, and transmitting or receiving data over the PLC channel with the reduced bias current or voltage of the analog front end of the PLC transceiver.

Multi-length cyclic prefix for OFDM transmission in PLC channels

Embodiments of the invention provide multiple cyclic prefix lengths for either both the data-payload and frame control header or only the data payload. Frame control header (FCH) and data symbols have an associated cyclic prefix. A table is transmitted in the FCH symbols, which includes a cyclic prefix field to identify the cyclic prefix length used in the data payload. A receiver may know the cyclic prefix length used in the FCH symbols in one embodiment. In other embodiments, the receiver does not know the FCH cyclic prefix length and, therefore, attempts to decode the FCH symbols using different possible cyclic prefix lengths until the FCH symbols are successfully decoded.

For transmitting video data over a powerline communications transmission channel, a first communication device: obtains video data in the form of a succession of uncompressed images; determines the capacity of the transmission channel; performs a wavelet-decomposition of each uncompressed image, thereby obtaining data having different resolutions; compresses each wavelet-decomposed image, on the basis of the determined capacity of the powerline communications transmission channel; and performs transmission in pulse form with spreading of each compressed image to a second communication device, to introduce data redundancy, the rate of which, for each data item of said compressed image, is defined on the basis of the resolution of said video data item, the redundancy of the data having the lowest resolution being higher than the one of the data having any other resolution. The first communication device also transmits speed maps enabling the second communication device to thereby apply an image enhancement operation.

An isolated signal transmission apparatus isolatingly transmits, from a control-side apparatus to a control target apparatus, an electric signal obtained by superimposing a communication signal on a direct-current signal. The apparatus includes a lower limiter circuit configured to output, to the control target apparatus, a direct-current signal, whose value is a predetermined lower limit value, if a value of the direct-current signal from the control-side apparatus is less than the predetermined lower limit value.
