RECEPTION DEVICE, TRANSMISSION DEVICE, AND DATA PROCESSING METHOD
The present technology relates to a reception device, a transmission device, and a data processing method with which it becomes possible to operate digital television broadcasting more flexibly.
A reception device receives a broadcast signal transmitted by frequency division multiplexing (FDM) and processes, on the basis of control information existence information that is information included in first control information, which is acquired from the broadcast signal and is control information in a physical layer, and that indicates existence/non-existence of second control information that is control information in an upper layer of the physical layer, the second control information transmitted in each hierarchy. The present technology can be applied, for example, to a receiver that can receive digital television broadcasting.
DIGITAL RADIO CHANNEL ERROR DETECTION
A system includes a processor configured to determine that transmission data indicates that first data was transmitted via a digital radio channel and that reception data indicates that second data was received via the digital radio channel. The first data is transmitted concurrently with transmission of an analog signal. The processor is configured to detect an error in transmission of the first data based on a comparison of adjacent portions of the first data to non-adjacent portions of the second data. The processor is configured to, in response to detecting the error, initiate display of a default image concurrently with output of an audio signal that is based on the analog signal and to initiate retransmission of the first data to cause second particular data to be output subsequent to the output of the default image. The second particular data corresponds to the retransmitted first data.

AUDIO ENCODING FOR FUNCTIONAL INTERACTIVITY
Some examples include receiving audio content through a microphone of an electronic device and determining whether embedded data is included in the received audio content. The electronic device may decode the received audio content to extract the embedded data. In addition, the electronic device may perform at least one of: sending a communication to a computing device over a network based on the extracted embedded data, or presenting information on a display of the electronic device based on the extracted embedded data.
Apparatus and methods to associate different watermarks detected in media
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for associating different watermarks detected in media. An example method disclosed herein includes determining whether a first watermark detected in a media signal is represented in a watermark data structure and associating the first watermark with a first media presentation record associated with a second watermark in response to the first watermark being associated in the watermark data structure with the second watermark. The example method further includes transmitting monitoring data including the first media presentation record to an audience measurement entity.
METHODS, APPARATUS AND ARTICLES OF MANUFACTURE TO PROVIDE SECONDARY CONTENT IN ASSOCIATION WITH PRIMARY BROADCAST MEDIA CONTENT
Example methods disclosed herein include accessing a secondary content schedule based on one or more watermarks detected in primary media content, the secondary content schedule to identify (i) one or more secondary content items and (ii) one or more first time values associated with the one or more secondary content items. Disclosed example methods also include comparing the one or more first time values associated with the one or more secondary content items in the secondary content schedule to second time values provided by a clock to determine whether to present a first one of the one or more secondary content items, the second time values based on a timestamp associated with the one or more watermarks detected in the primary media content. Disclosed example methods further include causing a media presentation device to display the first one of the secondary content items according to the secondary content schedule.

METHODS AND APPARATUS TO PERFORM AUDIO WATERMARKING AND WATERMARK DETECTION AND EXTRACTION
Methods and apparatus to perform audio watermarking and watermark detection and extraction are disclosed. Example apparatus disclosed herein are to select frequency components to be used to represent a code, different sets of frequency components to represent respectively different information, respective ones of the frequency components in the sets of frequency components located in respective code bands, there being multiple code bands and spacing between adjacent code bands being equal to or less than the spacing between adjacent frequency components in the code bands. Disclosed example apparatus are also to synthesize the frequency components to be used to represent the code, combine the synthesized frequency components with an audio block of an audio signal, and output the audio signal and a video signal associated with the audio signal.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO PERFORM AUDIO WATERMARKING AND WATERMARK DETECTION AND EXTRACTION
Example methods and apparatus to audio watermarking and watermark detection and extraction are disclosed herein. Example methods disclosed herein include determining a first watermark symbol encoded in encoded audio samples and storing the first watermark symbol in tangible memory. Disclosed example methods also include determining a second watermark symbol encoded in the encoded audio samples and storing the second watermark symbol in the tangible memory. Disclosed example methods further include, in response to determining that the first watermark symbol matches the second watermark symbol, outputting the first watermark symbol.
