SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REPROGRAMMING ECU DEVICES (ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNITS) IN VEHICLES, VIA DIGITAL RADIO
The invention relates to a system and method for the reprogramming of ECU devices in automotive vehicles, via digital radio, which allows new software files to be transmitted when synchronizing a radio station, automatically and safely downloading the new updates without having to take the vehicle directly to a dealership, characterized by comprising means for encrypting audio files with software files, data files with vehicle information files; means for mixing the files to be transmitted simultaneously from a radio broadcast station in digital format; means for receiving the files by digital radio receiver that are sent to receiving ECUs in the vehicles; memory means for storing said files; means for demodulating the files; means for decrypting the files that are retransmitted within the bus of the ECU device through the internal network of the vehicle, so that all ECUs receive the message simultaneously and, after authenticating the information, auto-reprogram with the software file received in an application memory.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SHARING PRESET RADIO STATIONS USING A WIRELESS NETWORK
Embodiments provide a vehicle comprising a wireless transceiver for transmitting a request for radio presets to a plurality of vehicles within a predetermined proximity of the vehicle; a processor for generating a list of local radio stations based on radio presets information received by the wireless transceiver and a user preference for prioritizing the stations; and an audio system for playing audio received from a selected one of the local radio stations. Embodiments also include a method in a vehicle comprising sending, via a wireless transceiver, a request for radio presets to a plurality of vehicles within a predetermined proximity of the vehicle; generating, using a processor, a list of local radio stations based on radio presets information received by the wireless transceiver and a user preference for prioritizing the stations; and playing, via an audio system, audio received from a selected one of the local radio stations.

Systems and methods for emergency vehicle proximity warnings using digital radio broadcast
Systems and methods are disclosed for communicating an emergency alert message from a digital radio broadcast transmission system of a mobile vehicle to a digital radio broadcast receiver system. A digital radio broadcast signal including first and second data is broadcasted using the digital radio broadcast transmission system to end-user digital radio broadcast receivers. The first data includes an emergency code, and the second data includes an emergency alert message. The digital radio broadcast signal is transmitted at a predetermined frequency that is recognized by the receivers as an emergency notification frequency. The digital radio broadcast signal can be decoded only by receivers located within a localized area in a proximity of the transmission system. The receivers are configured to automatically tune to the emergency notification frequency to receive the digital radio broadcast signal and render the second data based on a detection of the emergency code within the signal.

MESH NETWORK BASED AUTOMATED UPLOAD OF CONTENT TO AIRCRAFT
The Automated Content Upload System networks a plurality of aircraft together when they are parked at the gates of an airport. Communications among the aircraft are guided by a Content Manager, resident at or near the airport, which maintains data representative of InFlight Entertainment Content presently stored on each aircraft and the list of scheduled InFlight Entertainment Content available on each aircraft. The Content Manager guides the exchange of InFlight Entertainment Content among the aircraft, as well as from the Content Manager to the aircraft, to automatically distribute InFlight Entertainment Content to the aircraft efficiently and timely. This process includes the ability to multicast data from the Content Manager to multiple aircraft in a single transmission, obtaining content delivery efficiency, populating multiple aircraft via a single transmission from the Content Manager. Furthermore, the Content Manager can supplement this process via transmissions to the aircraft in flight over the Air-To-Ground link.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING AUDIO SIGNALS IN A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A method and system of managing audio signals within a communication system is provided. An audio signal is received on two or more independent audio paths within an operating environment, such as a vehicular operating environment (106). A controller identifies an audio source ID associated with the audio signal. The audio source ID may be a talkgroup ID, an individual ID, or a channel ID associated with the audio signal. The received audio signal from the independent audio paths is mixed and played out at a spatially separated unique location within the vehicle from other audio signals based on the sound source ID, each sound source ID having a unique location within the vehicle.
