Multi-lobe digital microphone enabled audio capture and spatialization for generating an immersive arena based audio experience

An example immersive audio signal processing system and a computer-implemented method for generating a target arena environment audio stream are provided. The example immersive audio signal processing system includes a plurality of multi-lobe digital sound wave capture devices positioned within the arena environment. The plurality of multi-lobe digital sound wave capture devices is configured to direct first beamformed lobes to a playing region of the arena environment, second beamformed lobes to a spectator region of the arena environment, and third beamformed lobes to a noise source region of the arena environment. A digital signal processor is configured to isolate noise audio components originating from at least the spectator region or the noise source region from the audio signal stream and generate a target arena environment audio stream.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COMPRESSING AND DECOMPRESSING A HIGHER ORDER AMBISONICS SIGNAL REPRESENTATION

A method and apparatus for decompressing a Higher Order Ambisonics (HOA) signal representation is disclosed. The apparatus includes an input interface that receives an encoded directional signal and an encoded ambient signal and an audio decoder that perceptually decodes the encoded directional signal and encoded ambient signal to produce a decoded directional signal and a decoded ambient signal, respectively. The apparatus further includes an extractor for obtaining side information related to the directional signal and an inverse transformer for converting the decoded ambient signal from a spatial domain to an HOA domain representation of the ambient signal. The apparatus also includes a synthesizer for recomposing a Higher Order Ambisonics (HOA) signal from the HOA domain representation of the ambient signal and the decoded directional signal. The side information includes a direction of the directional signal selected from a set of uniformly spaced directions.

A wireless multi-channel audio transmission method and a wireless multi-channel audio transmission device are disclosed in the present invention. The wireless multi-channel audio transmission method comprises: dividing the N channels of audio data into M groups of subset channel audio data, wherein each group of subset channel audio data comprises at least one channel of audio data; and transmitting the M groups of subset channel audio data to the M subset channel audio receiving devices through M transmission modules in parallel, wherein each of the transmission modules adopts a different transmitting frequency at the same time, and the transmission modules used for transmitting each group of subset channel audio data are changed according to a preset changing rule. Thus, frequency division multiplexing and spatial diversity are used to improve transmission bandwidth, reduce transmission delay and increase transmission reliability of wireless multi-channel audio transmission.

Robust broadcast via relayed retransmission

Systems and methods for broadcasting wireless data via one or more retransmission schemes to increase the packet reception in a wireless system. One or more devices of the system are configured to listen for an initial data packet from a source device. Should one or more devices successfully receive the initial packet, each device that received the packet can unconditionally retransmit a copy of the payload of the initial packet such that any device that failed to receive the initial packet payload has an opportunity to receive it during the respective retransmissions. Similarly, each device of the system can send acknowledgements to the other system devices that indicate whether they received the initial packet. Should one or more of the devices successfully receive the initial packet, the devices can conditionally retransmit a copy of the missing payload when one or more devices indicates they have failed to receive it.
