Detecting and responding to rendering of interactive video content

A computing system obtains a fingerprint of video content being rendered by a video presentation device, including a first portion representing a pre-established video segment and a second portion representing a dynamically-defined video segment. While obtaining the query fingerprint, the computing system (a) detects a match between the first portion of the query fingerprint and a reference fingerprint that represents the pre-established video segment, (b) based on the detecting of the match, identifies the video content being rendered, (c) after identifying the video content being rendered, applies a trained neural network to at least the second portion of the query fingerprint, and (d) detects, based on the applying of the neural network, that rendering of the identified video content continues. And responsive to at least the detecting that rendering of the identified video content continues, the computing system then takes associated action.

METHODS AND APPARATUS TO MONITOR A SPLIT SCREEN MEDIA PRESENTATION

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to monitor a split screen media presentation. Example apparatus disclosed herein are to generate one or more video signatures associated with video output from a media device and determine whether the one or more video signatures correspond to first media identified based on audio output from the media device. Disclosed example apparatus are also to, in response to a determination that the one or more generated video signatures do not correspond to the first media, determine that the video corresponds to a split-screen presentation having a plurality of regions-of-interest, and identify a first one of the regions-of-interest of the split-screen presentation that includes the first media.

A processor of a broadcasting selects an encoding method for a first broadcast based on a first broadcast characteristic, wherein the encoding method is a default encoding method when the first broadcast characteristic is not recognized by the system, and transmits the first broadcast, encoded using the encoding method, to a playback device. The processor further uses a feedback control loop to dynamically adjust parameters of the encoding method to optimize a metric related to quality and a bitrate of the encoded first broadcast. The processor transmits a second broadcast encoded using the encoding method having the adjusted parameters to the playback device.

Identification of concurrently broadcast time-based media

A real time messaging platform identifies an audio snippet of a time-based media (TBM) event. The messaging platform maintains a real time repository of concurrently broadcasting TBM events as well as a historical repository of previously broadcast TBM events. These repositories contain acoustic fingerprints of their respective TBM events. The messaging platform matches an acoustic fingerprint of the audio snippet with one of the stored acoustic fingerprints to identify the TBM event in the recorded snippet. To identify the TBM event, the messaging platform matches multiple overlapping reference audio segments of the reference audio stream with multiple test audio segments of the audio snippet. This allows the platform to account for time delays between the test and reference audio segments that would otherwise hinder the matching process.

Media system analysis and control

A method of processing media output events, each having a corresponding duration, from a plurality of media content receivers within a media distribution system, comprises: a. dividing the output events into a plurality of segments, such that output events having similar properties are placed into the same one of said segments; b. within each said segment, identifying a long duration threshold based on the distribution of the durations of the output events within that segment; c. and applying the long duration thresholds of each said segment for control and/or analysis of the media distribution system.

Content-Modification System with Broadcast Schedule Utilization Feature

In one aspect, a method includes (i) accessing broadcast-schedule data associated with a channel; (ii) using the accessed broadcast-schedule data to identify an upcoming content-modification opportunity on the channel; (iii) responsive to identifying the upcoming content-modification opportunity on the channel, identifying a content-presentation device tuned to the channel; and (iv) causing supplemental content to be transmitted to the identified content-presentation device, to facilitate the identified content-presentation device performing a content-modification operation related to the identified upcoming content-modification opportunity on the channel.

RECEIVING APPARATUS, TRANSMITTING APPARATUS, AND DATA PROCESSING METHOD

There is provided an arrangement which is capable of reliably generating and transmitting viewing information with respect to contents received via a communication route other than terrestrial broadcasting waves. Contents in which a contents ID applicable to the generation of viewing information and viewing information-compatible data such as viewing information destination information or the like are recorded in an electronic watermark (WaterMark) or a sound data file are sent from a transmitting apparatus to a receiving apparatus. The receiving apparatus acquires the contents ID and the viewing information destination information, etc. from the electronic watermark (WM) or the sound data file, generates viewing information using the acquired data, and sends the generated viewing information to a designated address.

Methods and apparatus to monitor a split screen media presentation

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to monitor a split screen media presentation. Example apparatus disclosed herein include an audio processor to process audio output from a media device to determine audio metering data to identify first media presented by the media device. Disclosed example apparatus also include a video signature generator to generate one or more video signatures associated with video output from the media device. Disclosed example apparatus further include a computer vision processor to identify a first region-of-interest of a split screen presentation of the media device including the first media in response to a determination that the one or more generated video signatures do not match reference video signatures corresponding to the first media.

Audio request interaction system

A person can use a portable electronic device to electronically purchase or otherwise request a product, service or other deliverable related to audio programming to which the person is listening at the time they initiate the request. The request is fulfilled by a service that analyzes the audio content to identify the deliverable the person desires.
