Vehicle-based media system with audio ad and visual content synchronization feature
In one aspect, an example method to be performed by a vehicle-based media system includes (a) receiving audio content; (b) causing one or more speakers to output the received audio content; (c) using a microphone of the vehicle-based media system to capture the output audio content; (d) identifying reference audio content that has at least a threshold extent of similarity with the captured audio content; (e) identifying visual content based at least on the identified reference audio content; and (f) outputting, via a user interface of the vehicle-based media system, the identified visual content.
Provision of recommendations to adjust the advertisement campaign based on real-time generation of a campaign outcome index
Apparatuses, methods, and storage media for providing recommendations for an advertisement campaign are described. In one instance, an apparatus for providing recommendations for an advertisement campaign may include a campaign outcome index provision engine communicatively coupled to one or more processors, to generate a campaign outcome index (COI) associated with the advertisement campaign, based at least in part on a ratio between an actual outcome key performance indicator (KPI) associated with the advertisement campaign; and a baseline outcome KPI that reflects an expected average performance of the advertisement campaign; and a recommendation engine, communicatively coupled to the one or more processors, to provide recommendations to adjust a use of advertisements in the advertisement campaign, during the advertisement campaign, based at least in part on the generated COI. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
System and method for detecting and classifying direct response advertisements using fingerprints
System and method for detecting and classifying direct response advertisements. The system includes a unit for generating an advertisement candidate segment for an advertisement section detected from a broadcast stream; a matching unit for determining whether the candidate segment matches each advertisement segment stored in a database (DB); a unit for, if the matching unit determines that a segment matching the candidate segment is not present, determining whether the candidate segment is a direct response advertisement; a registration unit for storing the candidate segment, determined to be a direct response advertisement, as an advertisement segment that is the direct response advertisement in the DB; and a direct response advertisement grouping unit for, if the matching unit determines that an advertisement segment matching the candidate segment is present, and the matching segment is a direct response advertisement, grouping the candidate segment with DB-stored advertisement segments that are direct response advertisements.
Content distribution server, content distribution method and content distribution program
A content distribution server, includes: a communicator that receives live contents transmitted through a network NW from a distributor terminal used by a distributor of a live content; a designator that designates an area in the live content, where another content is superimposed and played; a selector that selects the other content to be played in the area designated; and a controller that generates a distribution content by superimposing the other content selected by the selector in the area designated by the designator in the live content, wherein the communicator distributes the distribution content to a viewer terminal through the network NW.
Systems and methods for content distribution between content breaks
Systems, methods, and articles for optimizing the placement of content, such as advertisements, within content breaks. The systems disclosed herein automatically identify the optimal allocation of content within breaks included in advertisement placement opportunities. This is achieved by scoring placed advertisements and determining whether a prospective advertisement can be placed within a break. The system may score the placed advertisements based on rules provided by a media content provider and multiple buyers.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO DETECT COMMERCIAL ADVERTISEMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH MEDIA PRESENTATIONS
Methods and apparatus to detect commercial advertisements associated with media presentations are disclosed. An example method involves receiving a video frame and detecting a change in box-formatting between the video frame and a subsequent video frame. A transition between the video frame and the subsequent video frame is indicated as a commercial advertisement transition based on the detected change in box-formatting.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR IDENTIFICATION OF LOCAL COMMERCIAL INSERTION OPPORTUNITIES
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for identification of local commercial insertion opportunities. Example apparatus for identification of local commercial insertion opportunities include a media comparator to compare respective instances of media conveyed in respective ones of a plurality of broadcast signals associated with affiliates of a national broadcaster to identify a broadcast interval having different media conveyed among at least some of the broadcast signals. The example apparatus also include an insertion opportunity identifier to determine whether the broadcast interval is associated with a local advertisement insertion opportunity based on a characteristic of the broadcast interval.

Arbitrated content consumption
Some aspects may include determining whether to allow a skip over a portion of required content based on the amount of time elapsed since a portion of required content was played. The amount of time elapsed since a portion of required content was played may be measured based on the sum time of content played, or may be based on the amount of wall time elapsed. The determination of whether to allow a skip over a portion of required content may be made based on comparing the amount of time elapsed since a portion of required content was played to a threshold amount of time. Some aspects may allow free navigation within content if the amount of time elapsed is less than the threshold, and may restrict navigation or require playback of required content if the amount of time elapsed is greater than the threshold.
DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SAME
Disclosed is a display apparatus including: a receiver; a communicator; a display; and a processor configured to: obtain first media information and a service app from a broadcast signal received through the receiver, receive second media information corresponding to the first media information from a server through the communicator by executing the obtained service app, identify a different schedule section based on comparison in between content schedule of the first media information and content schedule of the second media information, and perform an operation convenient for a user to use the broadcast program, based on the identified schedule section.
