Methods and systems to meter media content presented on a wireless communication device
An example apparatus includes a meter to generate first information indicative of a media presentation mode of a media presentation application executed by a wireless communication device during a presentation of the media content received and presented via the wireless communication device, the media content comprising scheduled programming that is broadcasted or multicasted simultaneously to a plurality of other wireless communication devices during a pre-scheduled time; and generate second information indicative of the media content presented via the wireless communication device. A memory is to store the first information in association with the second information in the wireless communication device; and store third information in association with the first and second information. The third information is indicative of at least one of a location of a cell tower used to transmit the media content, an identifier of the cell tower, or an identifier of a wireless network access point.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS TO METER MEDIA CONTENT PRESENTED ON A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE
An example apparatus to monitor media that is presented via a mobile device includes: an application monitor to determine when media presentation software is being executed by the mobile device; and a metering information collector to collect at least one of a signature or a code of the media presented by the media presentation software based on the media presentation software being executed by the mobile device.
ATSC 3.0 SINGLE FREQUENCY NETWORKS USED FOR POSITIONING NAVIGATION TIMING AND SYNERGY 4G / 5G NETWORKS
According to some embodiments, a method includes selecting a length for an advanced television system committee (ATSC) 3.0 frame for transmission by a single frequency network (SFN) transmitter and aligning the SFN transmitter with a global positioning system (GPS) epoch. The method further includes storing geographical coordinates of the SFN transmitter and a corresponding SFN transmitter identification (TX ID) in a database. The method also includes encoding the SFN TX ID in a non-coherent symbol of a plurality of positioning navigation timing (PNT) symbols comprising a plurality of coherent symbols and the non-coherent symbol with orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) numerology to support positioning. The method further includes prepending the plurality of PNT symbols to the ATSC 3.0 frame to generate a modified ATSC 3.0 frame and transmitting the modified ATSC 3.0 using a SFN transmitter antenna of the SFN transmitter.
Textual display of aural information broadcast via frequency modulated signals
An electronic device includes a display screen and circuitry. The circuitry receives a first frequency modulated (FM) signal from a first FM radio transmitter, via a first FM radio channel. The first FM signal comprises a broadcast data signal that includes an audio segment of aural information of a performer-of-interest at of a live event, text information associated with the audio segment, and synchronization information. The synchronization information is associated with the text information and the audio segment. The circuitry extracts the synchronization information from a plurality of data packets of the broadcast data signal. The circuitry extracts a portion of the text information from the extracted plurality of data packets of the broadcast data signal based on the extracted synchronization information. The circuitry controls display of the extracted portion of the text information on the display screen.

REMOTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, CONTROL DEVICE, SERVER, METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
A remote management system includes: a facility information receiver that receives facility information representing a facility within a space; a facility information storage that stores the facility information; a use information receiver that receives use information representing a facility to be operated during a use period of the space among facilities represented by the facility information; a use information storage that stores the use information; a relay that relays communication between the facility within the space and an outside of the space; and a facility controller that controls the facility to operate or not to operate via the relay, based on the facility information and the use information.
Alternatives to satellite signals for synchronization in macro network
Disclosed herein are methods and systems that may help a base station provide high-speed data communication under a protocol such as LTE or WiMAX, even when a GPS signal is not available to the base station.
