Method and System for Planning and Running Video-on-Demand Advertising
A method and system for planning and running video-on-demand (VOD) advertising includes a planner for planning advertising campaigns and an ad selector for running selected advertisements from selected ones of the campaigns. The campaigns are associated with household demographic classifications, video content category categories, household geographic locations, and/or video viewing times. In response to a viewer requesting a video, the selector selects the campaigns corresponding to the demographic classification associated with the viewer, the content category of the requested video, the geographic location associated with the viewer, and/or the viewing time at which the requested video is viewed. The demographic classification is determined by using an identifier of the viewer's set-top-box. The selector may select the campaigns corresponding to the content categories of the requested video. The content categories are determined by using an identifier associated with the requested video.

METHODS AND APPARATUS TO DETECT SPILLOVER
Disclosed examples include: determining periods of loudness in an audio signal by: determining whether a difference between a first amplitude at a first time and a second amplitude at a second time satisfies a loudness threshold; in response to the difference satisfying the loudness threshold, setting a loudness flag to a loud state corresponding to the second time, the second time occurring after the first time; determining whether a third amplitude at a third time after the second time satisfies a quiet threshold; in response to the third amplitude satisfying the quiet threshold, setting the loudness flag to a quiet state corresponding to the third time; and determining periods of loudness for the audio signal based on the states of the loudness flag at the second and third times; and indicating the audio signal as spillover based on the periods of loudness.

System and method for updating user availability for wireless communication applications
Systems and methods for monitoring and updating user availability based upon presence and television viewing behavior are described herein. In one embodiment, a presence system is used to detect a user's presence to update the user's availability status. The availability status is then used to update a contact list, voicemail message, and/or busy message. In further embodiments, user preferences are used in combination with presence data to update the user's availability status. In still further embodiments, a user's television viewing behavior is used in combination with the presence data, user preferences, or both to update the user's availability status. Alternative embodiments provide systems and methods in accordance with the present invention for other interactive devices.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INTELLIGENT AUDIO OUTPUT
Systems and methods for a media guidance application that adjusts output parameters of media assets delivered to output devices based on user preferences of users near the output devices. For example, the media guidance application may adjust the volume to be higher at a speaker near a first user who enjoys a particular media asset and lower at a speaker near a second user who dislikes the media asset.
