FAST-START STREAMING AND BUFFERING OF STREAMING CONTENT FOR PERSONAL MEDIA PLAYER

Systems and methods allow playback of a media stream received via a network. The media stream is received and stored in a buffer prior to playback. Responsive to receiving the user command to change the content of the media stream, the buffer is flushed prior to receiving the changed content in the media stream.

BROADCASTING SIGNAL TRANSMITTING APPARATUS, BROADCASTING SIGNAL RECEIVING APPARATUS, BROADCASTING SIGNAL TRANSMITTING METHOD, AND BROADCASTING SIGNAL RECEIVING METHOD

A method for providing a broadcast service in a Primary Device (PD) is discussed. The method includes performing a discovery process with a Companion Device (CD) application resided in a CD. Further, performing the discovery process includes receiving an application information request from the CD application, and sending an application information response, and the application information response includes location information used for an endpoint of a websocket server resided in the PD. In addition, establishing a websocket connection between the CD application and the websocket server based on the location information; and communicating at least one message with the CD application via the websocket connection.

Selection and presentation of context-relevant supplemental content and advertising

Media content is paired with context-relevant supplemental content, and the media and supplemental content are provided to a user. A media stream containing the media content may be received from a source system, and context information about the media content is determined from information about the media stream. The supplemental content may be selected based on the determined context information. This may enable a business model in which third parties can register advertising or other supplemental content and specify the criteria that cause it to be combined with the media content.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

[Abstract] To support transfer of an application to an external device in an apparatus that performs a control of the application using an AIT.

[Solving Means] An application destination descriptor (Application_destination_discriptor) for specifying a corresponding device of an application is newly provided as an application descriptor of an AIT. An information processing apparatus determines based on this application destination descriptor whether or not the application is an application for its own device or an application for an external device. If the application is the application for the external device, the information processing apparatus transfers the application to the external device to start it.

Zone Scene Management

A computing device capable of controlling a networked media playback system receives data identifying a first zone player, a second zone player, and a zone scene including a predefined grouping of zone players including at least the first zone player and the second zone player. The computing device displays a representation of available zone players in the networked media playback system including a first selectable indication of the first zone player, a second selectable indication of the second zone player, and a third selectable indication of the zone scene that, when selected, causes the zone scene to be invoked such that the predefined grouping of zone players becomes configured for synchronous playback of media. While displaying the representation, the computing device receives a user input indicating that the zone scene has been selected to be invoked. Based on the user input, the computing device causes the zone scene to be invoked.

Cloud queue synchronization

Example implementations involve cloud queue synchronization. An example implementation may involve while playing back a particular media item from a local queue of media items, a playback device sending, to a remote server over the network interface, (i) a request for a window of media items from a cloud queue of media items that is accessible to the playback device via a wide area network, and (ii) an indication of the particular media item that is being played by the playback device. The playback device receives, over the network interface in response to the request for the window of media items, an indication of two or more media items from the cloud queue of media items and incorporates an indication of at least one of the two or more media items into the local queue of media items.

Apparatus and method for accessing star network/mesh network of time division multiple access (TDMA)/single channel per carrier (SCPC) integrated satellite communication

Disclosed is a star network/mesh network accessing method and apparatus of a terminal in a satellite communication system, the method including receiving time slot resources from a central station and operating in a time division multiple access (TDMA) start network communication mode between the central station and a terminal, transferring, to the central station, a TDMA mesh network connection request message for a destination terminal, receiving traffic burst time plan (TBTP) information corresponding to the TDMA mesh network connection request message from the central station and operating in a TDMA mesh network communication mode between terminals, and switching from the TDMA mesh network communication mode between the terminals to a single channel per carrier (SCPC) mesh network communication mode between the terminals when Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) traffic is greater than a threshold.
