A configuration for inter-cell interference coordination in wireless communication systems. The apparatus determines a priority order of a first base station to schedule a first transmission with a first UE. The apparatus transmits a first transmission request to the first UE to schedule the first transmission. The apparatus receives, from the first UE, a measurement report based on the first transmission request received by the first UE, the measurement report indicates a signal quality of the first transmission request. The apparatus determines to schedule the first transmission with the first UE based at least on the measurement report. The apparatus sends a schedule indication to at least a second base station indicating whether the first transmission is scheduled with the first UE, at least the second base station has a lower priority order than the first base station.

The messages may include downlink beamforming information elements for a downlink cell. Each downlink beamforming information element may be associated with a respective group of resource blocks of a plurality of groups of resource blocks in the downlink cell. The first base station may select a first beamforming codeword for at least one group of resource blocks of the plurality of groups of resource blocks based on the downlink beamforming information associated with the at least one group of resource blocks. The first base station may transmit, to a wireless device, signals on the at least one group of resource blocks employing the first beamforming codeword.

Apparatus and methods for interference management in a quasi-licensed wireless system

Apparatus and methods for providing interference management and load balancing in a wireless network. In one embodiment, the method and apparatus utilize quasi-licensed CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) wireless spectrum in conjunction with enhanced SAS (Spectrum Access System) and base station (e.g., CBSD) components to enable creation and management of virtual clusters of bases stations connected to the network, so as to enable inter-cluster interference mitigation, while also supporting load balancing between the base stations using coverage area overlap. In one implementation, the SAS reduces the coverage area (transmit power) of one or more base stations on a cluster edge to mitigate inter-cluster interference, and increases or adjusts the coverage of one or more base stations inside of the cluster to enable load balancing.

Procedures to control beamforming

In an aspect, a wireless device with a plurality of transmitter chains that can be selectively used to transmit a beam-formed signal determines a targeted receive power for the beam-formed signal, with respect to a target receiving device. The wireless device selects a number of the plurality of transmitter chains for forming the beam-formed signal, based on the targeted receive power and based on an estimated power consumption for each of the plurality of transmitter chains. The selection is performed so as to minimize a total power consumption, given the estimated power consumptions. The wireless device transmits a beam-formed signal, using the selected number of the plurality of transmitter chains.
