System and methods for distribution of heterogeneous wavelength multiplexed signals over optical access network
An optical network communication system includes an optical hub, an optical distribution center, at least one fiber segment, and at least two end users. The optical hub includes an intelligent configuration unit configured to monitor and multiplex at least two different optical signals into a single multiplexed heterogeneous signal. The optical distribution center is configured to individually separate the at least two different optical signals from the multiplexed heterogeneous signal. The at least one fiber segment connects the optical hub and the optical distribution center, and is configured to receive the multiplexed heterogeneous signal from the optical hub and distribute the multiplexed heterogeneous signal to the optical distribution center. The at least two end users each include a downstream receiver configured to receive one of the respective separated optical signals from the optical distribution center.
Method and management node for deciding ports suitable to be communicatively connected to each other in a communications network
A method and management node for deciding ports suitable to be communicatively connected to each other in a communications network. The communications network comprises an available port communicatively connected to the communications network, and a discovered port that is discovered as being communicatively connected to the communications network. The management node obtains Information associating at least the available port and the discovered port with respective one or more attributes and with a respective attribute identifier identifying the respective one or more attributes. The management node receives, from a port discovering network node, a message comprising the attribute identifier associated with the discovered port. The management node decides that the available port is suitable to be communicatively connected with the discovered port based on that the respective one or more attributes are considered matching.
OPTICAL VIRTUAL-CIRCUIT-SWITCHING NETWORK SYSTEM AND OPTICAL SWITCH THEREOF
An optical virtual-circuit-switching network system and optical switches thereof are provided. The optical virtual-circuit-switching network system includes multiple optical switches. Each optical switch includes an optical outbound handling module, an optical pass around module, and an optical inbound handling module. The optical outbound handling module transmits optical signals to both the horizontal optical network subsystem and the vertical optical network subsystem. The optical pass around module transmits optical signals from the horizontal optical network subsystem to the vertical optical network subsystem, or transmits optical signals from the vertical optical network subsystem to the horizontal optical network subsystem. The optical inbound handling module outputs the selected optical signals to dense wavelength-division multiplexing transceivers and, through these transceivers, converts the optical signals into electrical signals before forwarding the data to the top-of-rack switches.
