POWER SUPPLY PATH-SWITCHING DEVICE, POWER SUPPLY PATH-SWITCHING SYSTEM, AND POWER SUPPLY PATH-SWITCHING METHOD
In order to provide a power supply path-switching device, a power supply path-switching system, and a power supply path-switching method with which it is possible to utilize to the maximum equipment in which a failure has not occurred without imparting a power supply function to a branch station side even when a failure has occurred in the power supply function of the trunk station side, a power supply path-switching device (10) is provided with a first switching means (20), a second switching means (30), a grounding means (40), and a power consumption circuit (50) that operates by being supplied with the power supply. When a failure occurs in a first power supply line (61), the power consumption circuit (50) grounds the first power supply line (61), one end of the power consumption circuit (50) being connected to the grounding means (40) and a second power supply line (62) being connected to the other end of the power consumption circuit (50). When a failure occurs in the second power supply line (62), the power consumption circuit (50) grounds the second power supply line (62), the first power supply line (61) being connected to one end of the power consumption circuit (50) and the other end of the power consumption circuit (50) being connected to a grounding means (24).
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR SELF HEALING OF AN OPTICAL TRANSCEIVER IN A WAVELENGTH DIVISION MULTIPLEXING (WDM) SYSTEM
In some embodiments, an apparatus includes an optical transceiver that includes a first set of electrical transmitters operatively coupled to a switch. Each electrical transmitter from the first set of electrical transmitters is configured to transmit an electrical signal from a set of electrical signals. In such embodiments, the switch is configured to switch an electrical signal from the set of electrical signals such that the set of electrical signals are transmitted via a second set of electrical transmitters. Each electrical transmitter from the second set of electrical transmitters is operatively coupled to an optical transmitter from a set of optical transmitters. The set of optical transmitters is operatively coupled to an optical multiplexer. In such embodiments, at least one electrical transmitter from the second set of electrical transmitters is associated with a failure within the optical transceiver.
Flexible TWDM PON with load balancing and power saving
An apparatus comprising an arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) comprising a plurality of AWG ports, a power splitter comprising a plurality of splitter ports, and a plurality of optical interleavers, each coupled to a respective AWG port and a respective splitter port, for directing incoming optical signals to one of the AWG and the power splitter.
Intra-chassis protection systems and methods for passive optical network optical line terminals
An optical line terminal is operable in a passive optical network. The optical line terminal includes a chassis. A plurality of optical subsystems are disposed within the chassis. Each optical subsystem is operable to generate optical signals for delivery to a port. Each optical subsystem includes one or more optical switches. When a fault condition is detected at a first optical subsystem preventing the delivery of first optical signals generated by the first optical subsystem to the port of the first optical subsystem, the optical switches switch to deliver second downstream optical signals generated by a second optical subsystem to the port of the first optical subsystem.
Method and apparatus for optical transmitter and receiver redundancy within a directionless optical node
Example embodiments of the present invention relate to an optical node comprising of at least two degrees, a plurality of directionless add/drop ports, a plurality of primary WDM transmitters and receivers, and at least one protection WDM transmitter and receiver, wherein the at least one protection WDM transmitter and receiver can transmit and receive in place of any of the plurality of primary WDM transmitters and receivers.
FIBER INDEXING SYSTEMS
The present disclosure relates to systems and method for deploying a fiber optic network. Distribution devices are used to index fibers within the system to ensure that live fibers are provided at output locations throughout the system. In an example, fibers can be indexed in multiple directions within the system. In an example, spare ports can be providing in a forward direction and reverse direction ports can also be provided.

Wavelength redundancy device and wavelength redundancy method
10-Gbps client signals (1a) to (1c) which are processed by a 10-Gbps transponder (3a), a 40-Gbps transponder (3b), and a 100-Gbps transponder (3c), respectively, are branched by optical couplers (2a) to (2c) into an M:N switch (40). The M:N switch (40) selects a client signal to be made redundant from the branched client signals (1a) to (1c) and outputs the selected client signal to a redundancy 100-Gbps transponder (50) having 10-Gbps-based client interfaces.
