Vehicle wireless device detection
The disclosure includes an apparatus comprising a diagnostic unit configured to communicate with a rules engine to determine whether a transmission detected in a vehicle is classified as driver wireless device usage based on passenger data indicating whether a passenger is present in the vehicle. The disclosure also includes a system comprising a shielding unit configured to transmit a noise signal to interrupt a transmission detected in a vehicle, and a diagnostic unit configured to communicate with a rules engine to determine whether the detected transmission is classified as driver wireless device usage based on the passenger data indicating whether a passenger is present in the vehicle, and activate a recording if the transmission is classified as driver wireless device usage.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING A MOBILE COMMUNICATION DEVICE
Disclosed herein is a method and system for detecting, monitoring and/or controlling one or more of mobile services for a mobile communication device (also referred to herein as a Controllable Mobile Device or CMD), and in particular, when the device is being used and the vehicle, operated by the user of the device, is moving. The present method and system determines whether the vehicle is being operated by a user that may also have access to a mobile communication device which, if used concurrently while the vehicle is in operation, may lead to unsafe operation of the vehicle. If the mobile services control system determines that a vehicle operator has potentially unsafe access to a mobile communication device, the mobile services control system may restrict operator access to one or more services that would otherwise be available to the operator via the mobile communication device.
SIGNAL PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD, AND PROGRAM
A sound state estimating unit detects surrounding sound at a timing at which a notification to a destination user occurs. A user state estimating unit detects a position of the destination user and positions of users other than the destination user at the timing at which the notification occurs. An output control unit controls output of the notification to the destination user at a timing at which it is determined that the surrounding sound detected by the sound state estimating unit is masking possible sound which can be used for masking in a case where the position of the destination user detected by the user state estimating unit is within a predetermined area.
Apparatus and method of CRPA neutralization for illegal unmanned aerial vehicle
An apparatus of controlled reception pattern antenna (CRPA) neutralization for an illegal unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) includes an interference signal generator transmitting a direct wave toward a CRPA of an illegal UAV through a first transmission antenna and transmitting a first reflected wave inducing signal through a second transmission antenna and a first passive propagation mirror reflecting the first reflected wave inducing signal toward the illegal UAV so that the first reflected wave propagates toward the CRPA of the illegal UAV.

System, method, and apparatus for reducing driving while texting
A system for reducing driving while texting includes a containment vessel with a door. When the door is closed, the containment vessel attenuates cellular radio signals to prevent the user device held there within from communicating with a transceiver that is external to the containment vessel (e.g. Cell Tower). A transceiver having an antenna internal to the containment vessel looks for a transceiver of the user device to detect the presence of the user device within the containment vessel. A sensor detects when the door is closed. There is a way to detecting movement of a vehicle in which the containment vessel is held and a way to log data indicating at least time periods in which movement is detected and either the door is open or the transceiver of the user device is not detected. The data is reported (e.g. to a parent/guardian).

MINIMIZING DISTRACTIONS OF MACHINE OPERATORS CAUSED BY USING A MOBILE DEVICE IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK
A method of controlling features and functions of a mobile device via a feature control application executing on the mobile device operating in a wireless communication network. The method includes determining, by the feature control application, if a user of the mobile device is an operator of a machine. Based at least in part on determining if the user is the operator of the machine, the feature control application determines if the machine is operating in a safe mode of operation. Based at least in part on determining if the machine is operating in the safe mode of operation, the feature control application determines which features of the mobile device to allow the user to operate.

Vehicle wireless device detection
The disclosure includes an apparatus comprising a diagnostic unit configured to communicate with a rules engine to determine whether a transmission detected in a vehicle is classified as unauthorized wireless device usage based on characteristics of RF signals received by a Detector Module collocated with the vehicle, geographic location data, and, optionally, additional secondary data, such determination being made by an external Rules Engine that is in communication with the Detector Module. The Rules Engine can provide instructions to and modify various threshold values used for preliminary RF signal analysis by the Detector Module.
