Rotary mower with cutting deck with bidirectional cutting blades
A rotary lawn mower has one or more grass cutting blades that are rotatable in opposite directions about a vertical axis or axes. Each blade is double edged having front and rear cutting edges on each end of the blade. Each blade end has a front sloped face inboard of the front cutting edge and a rear sloped face inboard of the rear cutting edge. These faces create air flow within the cutting chamber when cutting grass regardless of the direction of rotation of the blade. The direction of rotation of each blade is reversed to switch between discharge and mulching modes of operation. A flow director has a curved vertical guide wall that guides the grass clippings through a discharge opening in the discharge mode and that guides the flow of grass clippings away from the discharge opening in the mulching mode.
Bulk material handling accessory for landscaping device
An accessory configured to be connected to a self-propelled landscaping device. The accessory includes a frame that is releasably connectable to the device. The accessory includes a hopper supported on the frame and configured to hold bulk material in an interior area thereof. The hopper includes an upper opening for receiving bulk material and a lower opening for discharging the material. A conveyor extends below the hopper. The conveyor is selectively operative to move bulk material discharged from the lower opening in a first direction toward a conveyor first end or in a second direction toward a conveyor second end. A spreader is configured to engage and propel bulk material that is discharged at the conveyor first end. A conveyor extension is movably mounted on the frame and that includes an outward end that is selectively positionable outward in the second direction. Material delivered from the conveyor second end is movable on the conveyor extension and discharged at the outward end.
SYSTEM AND DEVICE FOR YARD WASTE COLLECTION
The invention provides a closed system for collecting, mulching and storing natural yard waste in a manner that saves time and labor. Storage of the natural yard waste is enabled by use of off the shelf bags instead of customized bags that must be later dumped into a generic storage housing. The system is empowered by a device that is attachable to such off the shelf bags and fully uses their volume so that maximum storage is achieved.
LAWN MOWER
A lawn mower contains: a work unit including a housing having a downward-facing opening and a cutter blade rotatably provided in the housing such that when rotated, the cutter blade cuts grass and generates a transport air flow flowing from the opening of the housing to inside; a grass clippings receptacle configured to receive grass clippings cut by the work unit; a grass clippings transport passage connecting an interior of the housing with the grass clippings receptacle; a shutter device including a shutter configured to selectively open and close the grass clippings transport passage and an actuator configured to drive the shutter; a controller configured to control the shutter device; and a pressure sensor provided in the grass clippings transport passage to detect a pressure in the grass clippings transport passage, wherein the controller is configured to control the shutter device in accordance with the pressure detected by the pressure sensor.
Lawn mower with rear cover for selectively driving a baffle
A lawn mower comprises a power assembly, a cutting blade driven by the power assembly, and a cover, wherein the cover comprises a main body, a rear cover pivotally connected to the rear of the main body, and a partition portion dividing the main body into a cutting cavity and a grass-collecting cavity, the partition portion comprising a baffle, the rear cover is selectively pivotal between an open position and a closed position. The baffle is driven by the rear cover.
Convertible mower deck with mulch on demand actuator
A convertible mower deck has a plurality of cutting chambers with a rotary cutting blade in each chamber and a side discharge opening from one of the cutting chambers, pivoting gates between the adjacent cutting chambers, and a pivoting side discharge door between a cutting chamber and the side discharge opening. Each of the gates and side discharge door are movable between a discharge or collection position and a mulching position. A mulch on demand actuator includes a switch in an operator station that causes a pivot control plate on a shaft to rotate and move linkages between the gates and door between the discharge or collection position and mulching position.
Mulch kit control lever
A mulch kit control lever with a detent plate attached to the top surface of a mower deck, and a vertically oriented pivot pin extending through the detent plate and through the mower deck and engaging a mulch gate. A pivoting handle connected to the pivot pin moves the mulch gate between a side discharge position and a mulching position. A detent pin on the handle abuts a first stop on the detent plate in the side discharge position and a second stop on the detent plate in the mulching position.
MODULAR LEAF SHREDDER
A modular leaf shredder is provided. The modular leaf shredder includes a housing having a plurality of interlocking housing subsections. The modular leaf shredder further includes a trimmer connector adapted to form a physical connection with a cooperating member of a trimmer in order to physically join the housing to the trimmer. The head of the trimmer includes a rotating head having at least three sets of cutting wires, at least two sets of cutting wires being substantially perpendicular to each other.
Mower with attachment having a hopper and conveyor assembly
A mower may have a removable mower deck and a removable attachment which includes a hopper and conveyor assembly for discharging particulate material from the hopper.
