DYNAMIC NUMEROLOGY BASED ON SERVICES

A base station can select orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) numerologies that define subcarrier spacing values based on attributes associated with one or more services that a user equipment (UE) is using. The base station can use the selected OFDM numerologies for transmission associated with the services. When the UE is using multiple services simultaneously, the base station can select the same or different OFDM numerologies for the multiple services.

RELIABLE LINK QUALITY ESTIMATION IN MULTI-RATE NETWORKS

Techniques are directed to using communication metric data associated with multiple modulation schemes to achieve a link quality metric that is representative of the link as a whole, across the multiple modulation schemes that may be employed on the link. A calculation of a link quality metric may be triggered by a network layer transmission attempt, with communication metrics accumulated at the link layer of the link. A filter used to calculate the link quality metric may be updated based on network layer transmission attempts, based on successful and/or unsuccessful transmissions at a Media Access Control (MAC) layer of the link. More generally, a calculation of link quality may be triggered by a higher layer transmission attempt while being calculated based on transmission attempts at a lower layer of the link.

In one aspect, characteristics of communication channels can be determined and the operation of the camera can be adjusted to use a communication channel based on a comparison of the characteristics of multiple communication channels.

Dynamic adaptation of semi-persistent CSI report setting

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a number of channel state information (CSI) reports for a CSI reporting procedure as part of a beam management procedure. The UE may transmit a first number of CSI reports of the CSI reporting procedure to the base station using a first set of transmission parameters associated with a first reliability level. The base station may transmit a control message to the UE indicating a second set of transmission parameters associated with a second reliability level and the UE may transmit a second number of CSI reports of the CSI reporting procedure to the base station using the second set of transmission parameters.

Fec mechanism based on media content

The invention provides an FEC (Forward error correction) mechanism based on media content. The mechanism classifies the media content, and endows it with different importance, and then changes the coding scheme according to the packets belonging to frames of different importance in combination with channel conditions and user experience, to conduct protection according to the importance of corresponding frames. By using the technical scheme of the invention, for the data congestion caused by excessive coding in the current FEC system, the media content is able to be classified and endowed with different importance, and controlled by signaling and indicating bit; different FEC coding strengths is able to be adopted; the duplication-expanding window fountain code with the unequal error protection performance is able to be further adopted, to achieve the maximum guarantee of media content quality and reduce the large amount of data caused by FEC.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a transmission status determining method, where the method includes: receiving, by a receive end device in a first time period, a first symbol sequence sent by a transmit end device; determining a first modulation parameter set according to the first symbol sequence; and determining, according to preset first mapping relationship information, a first transmission status corresponding to the first modulation parameter set as a transmission status of the transmit end device in a second time period, where the first mapping relationship information is used to indicate a one-to-one mapping relationship between N transmission statuses and N modulation parameter sets, the first modulation parameter set belongs to the N modulation parameter sets, and the second time period is later than the first time period.

Dynamic robust downlink packet delivery

A data packet for delivery to a user equipment can be inspected. Based on the inspecting, whether to use a robust downlink delivery can be determined. Based on the determining, a robust modulation coding scheme (MCS) for the data packet can be selected. The data packet can be transmitted utilizing the selected robust MCS. At least one of the inspecting, the determining, the selecting, and the transmitting is performed using at least one processor of at least one computing system. Related apparatus, systems, techniques, and articles are also described.

Scheduler and Methods Therein for Scheduling Data Transmission in a Wireless Communication System

A scheduler (400) and method for scheduling data transmission in a wireless communication system (100) are disclosed. The scheduler (400) buffers data packets in a buffer and monitories status of the buffer. The buffered data packets will remain in the buffer, until the buffer contains a data packet which is associated with a priority level higher than a priority level of a predefined priority threshold or when the total amount of data packets in the buffer reaches a predefined Buffer Threshold Set Point. Then the scheduler (400) selects modulation and coding scheme for the buffered data packets and sends the buffered data packets to the radio unit for transmission.
