The UE determines whether to send the CSI based on at least one of a timer or a threshold. The UE sends the CSI upon determining to send the CSI. The UE may send the CSI in a MAC header upon determining to send the CSI. When the UE determines whether to send the CSI based on the threshold, the UE may determine whether to send the CSI based on a difference between the CSI and reference CSI. The UE may determine the reference CSI based on at least one of previously reported CSI, fixed CSI, or an MCS of a received data transmission from a base station. The UE may send CSI to the base station in an initial connection setup with the base station.

Method for predictive link planning

A method of transmitting data from a transmitting terminal to a receiving terminal over a channel is provided in which a series of locations for each of the receiving terminals is determined. The method further includes the steps of determining a link geometry of the channel between the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal for each location in the series of locations, wherein determining the link geometry comprises determining a distance between the transmitting and receiving terminals for each location in the series of locations; determining channel impairments for the link geometries; predicting signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) of the channel for the link geometries and the channel impairments; storing channel parameters based on the predicted SNRs in a lookup table; retrieving the channel parameters from the lookup table using the distance between the transmitting and receiving terminals; and transmitting data from the transmitting terminal using the channel parameters.

The method includes: configuring a first physical uplink control channel format and a second physical uplink control channel for a user equipment first. An orthogonal sequence of the first physical uplink control channel format and an orthogonal sequence of the second physical uplink control channel format correspond to different expansion factors. Then the user equipment selects one of the physical uplink control channel format and the second physical uplink control channel format to transmit the feedback information.

The signal portion is encoded within the frame, wherein the frame includes a bitstream payload and two or more redundancy bits, wherein the bitstream payload includes a plurality of payload bits, wherein each of the payload bits exhibits a position within the bitstream payload. The decoder includes a channel decoding module, being configured to detect, depending on the two or more redundancy bits, whether the bitstream payload includes one or more corrupted bits being one or more of the payload bits that are distorted or that are likely to be distorted. Moreover, the decoder includes a source decoding module.
