Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that relate to a two-step random access procedure. Generally, the described techniques allow different configurations for a first message of a random access procedure depending on a connected-state of the user equipment (UE) performing the random access procedure. A base station may transmit configuration information to the UE and the UE may use the configuration information to determine resources, coding, block size, or other factors for transmitting the first message based on the radio resource control (RRC) connected state of the UE. The UE may then monitor for a random access response from the base station based on the first message from the UE.

METHOD OF DISCRETE DIGITAL SIGNAL RECOVERY IN NOISY OVERLOADED WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS IN THE PRESENCE OF HARDWARE IMPAIRMENTS

A computer-implemented reconstruction method of discrete digital signal recovery in noisy overloaded wireless communication systems in the presence of hardware impairments that is characterized by a channel matrix of complex coefficients, the method including, receiving the signal from channel by a signal detector, estimation of hardware impairments parameter η is done at the receiver, estimation noise power is done by a noise power estimator, forwarding the detected signal and hardware impairments parameter η and noise power estimation to a decoder that estimates the transmitted symbol, wherein the estimation of the decoder produces a symbol that could probably have been transmitted it is forwarded to a de-mapper, which outputs the bit estimates corresponding to the estimated transmit signal and the corresponding estimated symbol to a microprocessor for further processing.

Method and device used for wireless communication

The present disclosure discloses a method and a device in wireless communication. A User Equipment receives first information; and then transmits a first radio signal; and transmits a second radio signal. The first information comprises P1 piece(s) of configuration information, each of which is used to determine first-type resources, a first-type integer, and a first-type set; the first radio signal and the second radio signal comprises M1 first and M2 second radio sub-signal(s), respectively; the M2 is an element within a target set which is a positive integer; time-frequency resources occupied by the first radio signal belong to the first-type resources determined by first configuration information, the M1 is the first-type integer determined by the first configuration information, the target set is the first-type set determined by the first configuration information. The present disclosure provides a method of determining a number of non-grant uplink repeated transmissions while avoiding timing confusion.

Flexible implicit modulation and coding scheme indication

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for a base station transmitting a modulation and coding scheme index corresponding to a modulation and coding scheme table to a user equipment (UE). The modulation and coding scheme index may be applied to encoding or decoding a transport block. The modulation and coding scheme may be associated with at least two modulation orders or a differential indication according to a modulation and coding scheme table. To determine which of the modulation orders for processing the transport block, the UE and the base station may use a prior modulation order associated with a prior transmission of the transport block. The UE may process the transport block by encoding or decoding the transport block based at least in part on the determined modulation order.

MTC DEVICE OPERATING IN ONLY PARTIAL BAND OF SYSTEM BAND OF CELL AND DOWNLINK CONTROL CHANNEL RECEPTION

The disclosure of the present specification provides a method for receiving a downlink control channel in a machine type communication (MTC) device configured to operate in only a partial band of the system band of a cell. The method may comprise the steps of: considering the number of physical resource block (PRB) pairs, to which a downlink control channel can be mapped, to be one of 2, 4, and 8; when the considered number of PRB pairs is greater than the number of PRB pairs to which the downlink control channel is actually mapped, determining that the downlink control channel is not included in PRB pairs except the number of PRB pairs to which the downlink control channel is actually mapped; and receiving the downlink control channel in only as many PRB pairs as the number of PRB pairs to which the downlink control channel is actually mapped, on the basis of the determination.

Systems and methods for wireless communication of packets having a plurality of formats

Systems and methods for communicating packets having a plurality of formats are described herein. In some aspects, a signal (SIG) field in the preamble of a packet may indicate whether an extension field, such as an extension SIG field or SIG-B field, is included in the packet. In another aspect, one or more detectors may be used to auto-detect packets formatted as one of at least two different formats based on a short training field (STF) of a received packet. In some aspects, along training field (LTF) in the preamble of a packet may indicate whether the payload is repetition coded.
