A coded bit transmission method and apparatus, to improve spectrum resource utilization and a data rate of a Wi-Fi system, where the method includes: A sender performing channel coding on information bits according to a used MCS, to generate coded bits; and the sender distributing the coded bits to a plurality of channel sets or a plurality of resource units according to a distribution rule. The MCS is an MCS used for each of the plurality of channel sets, or an MCS used for each of the plurality of resource units.

Aspects of the disclosure relate to selection and use of peak reduction tones (PRTs) including obtaining a predetermined sequence of PRTs corresponding to a set of granted resources including a plurality of tones, mapping a set of data to a first subset of the plurality of tones outside of the predetermined sequence of PRTs and mapping a set of PRTs to a second subset of the plurality of tones within the predetermined sequence of PRTs. At least one peak of a time domain representation of the first subset of the plurality of tones is canceled using a time domain representation of the second subset of the plurality of tones. A transmitted waveform comprising the first subset of the plurality of tones and the second subset of the plurality of tones is transmitted.

An apparatus for transmitting broadcasting signal according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a waveform generator configured to generate a host broadcasting signal; a transmitter identification signal generator configured to generate a transmitter identification signal for identifying a transmitter, the transmitter identification signal scaled by an injection level code; and a combiner configured to inject the transmitter identification signal into the host broadcasting signal in a time domain so that the transmitter identification signal is transmitted synchronously with the host broadcasting signal.

A transmitting apparatus and a receiving apparatus are provided. The transmitting apparatus includes: an encoder configured to generate a low density parity check (LDPC) codeword by LDPC encoding based on a parity check matrix; an interleaver configured to interleave the LDPC codeword; and a modulator configured to map the interleaved LDPC codeword onto a modulation symbol, wherein the modulator is further configured to map a bit included in a predetermined bit group from among a plurality of bit groups constituting the LDPC codeword onto a predetermined bit of the modulation symbol.

An apparatus for generating broadcast signal frame according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a combiner configured to generate a multiplexed signal by combining a core layer signal and an enhanced layer signal at different power levels; a power normalizer configured to reduce the power of the multiplexed signal to a power level corresponding to the core layer signal; a time interleaver configured to generate a time-interleaved signal by performing interleaving that is applied to both the core layer signal and the enhanced layer signal; and a frame builder configured to generate a broadcast signal frame including a preamble for signaling time interleaver information corresponding to the time interleaver, the time interleaver uses one of time interleaver groups, and the time interleaver performs the interleaving by using one of a plurality of operation modes.
