One or more embodiments of the invention is a medium recommendation system for recommending media or sets of media in a game that proceeds as a user selects media from a possessed medium group constructed to include D media and places the media in a game field, the recommended media or sets of media being media or sets of media to be added to a medium in order to construct at least a portion of the possessed medium group from the medium, the medium recommendation system including: an input acceptance unit that accepts the input of a single medium among the T kinds of media; a table storage unit that stores first tables; and a medium recommendation unit that is capable of outputting, as recommendation information, media or sets of media with which the single medium accepted by the input acceptance unit is associated in the first tables.

ACCESSORY FOR PRESENTING INFORMATION ASSOCIATED WITH AN APPLICATION
20230249063 · 2023-08-10 · ·

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, an accessory having a plurality of tactile-sensitive buttons, a plurality of light sources, wherein each light source emits a controllable spectrum of light through a corresponding one of the plurality of tactile-sensitive buttons, and a controller coupled to the plurality of tactile-sensitive buttons, and the plurality of light sources. The controller can be operable to detect tactile contact of each of the plurality of tactile-sensitive buttons, receive status information associated with a video game, and adjust the spectrum of light emitted by at least a portion of the plurality of light sources according to the status information to indicate one or more aspects of the video game. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

Server-Based Generation of a Help Map in a Video Game

Techniques for improving a graphical user interface are described. In an example, a computer system receives an activity identifier of an activity in a video game and correlated locations. It builds a map of the locations from completion data indicating completion of the activity, and location data indicating where the activity was completed in the video game by other players. The identifier can be predefined in program code of the video game. Data is processed to determine where the likely location is for completing the activity in the video game. This likely location is shown as a graphical user interface element in a map.

Music video game with user directed sound generation

A music based video game provides a user directed sound generation feature. In some embodiments, the user is provided a video game controller simulating a musical instrument, which the user may operate similarly to its real musical instrument counterpart. A free play feature is provided for users to operate the video game controller, where a processor of a video game console receives input signals from the video game controller and outputs audio samples based on the received input signals. During the free play feature, multiple suggestions as to how to operate the video game controller are simultaneously provided to give users some guidance as to what to play using the video game controller.

Marker point location display method, electronic device, and computer-readable storage medium

The present disclosure discloses a method for displaying a marker point location performed at an electronic device. In the present disclosure, a marker point location in a global map of a virtual scene is obtained; a target scene area indicated by the marker point location in the virtual scene is determined; a prompt signal is displayed in a viewing angle image of a currently controlled object, the prompt signal being used for prompting a location of the target scene area in the virtual scene, and the viewing angle image being a virtual scene observable in a viewing angle range of the currently controlled object in the virtual scene; and accuracy of marker point location display is improved by marking the target scene area in the virtual scene.

Information display method and apparatus in virtual scene, device, and computer-readable storage medium

An information display method in a virtual scene is provided. In the method, the virtual scene that includes a first virtual object is displayed. The first virtual object is controlled to move in the virtual scene based on a user input. Further, in response to the first virtual object moving into a target region in the virtual scene and obtaining control authority of the target region, a graphical representation of each of at least one second virtual object in the virtual scene is displayed based on a perspective of the first virtual object in the virtual scene. When a view of the respective second virtual object from a location of the first virtual object is obstructed, the graphical representation of an obstructed portion of the respective second virtual object is displayed in the virtual scene based on the perspective of the first virtual object and a position of the respective second virtual object in the virtual scene.

The generation, association, and display of in-game tags are disclosed. Such tags introduce an additional dimension of community participation to both single and multiplayer games. Through such tags, players are empowered to communicate through filtered text messages and images as well as audio clips that other game players, including top rated players, have generated and placed at particular coordinates and/or in context of particular events within the game space. Users may generate the tags using standard push-button commands, gestures via gesture-recognition commands, or voice commands such as “drop tag.” The presently described in-game tags and associated user generated content further allow for label based searches with respect to game play, as well as community participation and feedback.
