Service Design Center for Device Assisted Services

A technique involves modular storage of network service plan components and provisioning of same. A subset of the capabilities of a service design system can be granted to a sandbox system to enable customization of service plan offerings or other controls.

Methods and apparatuses for service layer charging correlation with underlying networks

The present application at least describes a computer-implemented method including a step of setting, via a service layer residing on a server outside of an underlying 3GPP network, a trigger in the underlying 3GPP network, where the trigger defines an QoS parameter change in the underlying 3GPP network. The underlying 3GPP network is configured with functionality to send a notification to the service layer upon detecting the QoS parameter change. The computer-implemented method also includes a step of receiving, from the underlying 3GPP network, the notification the detected QoS parameter change has occurred. The computer-implemented method further includes a step of performing, at the service layer residing on the server a service layer operation in response to the received notification.

System and method for monitoring account usage on a platform

A system and method for monitoring account usage on a platform that includes creating an account on a platform; assigning a usage model of the account; running an application of the account on the platform; monitoring usage of the application of the account; identifying a usage event of the usage model in the monitored usage; and generating an event response based on the usage event.

Method and apparatus for establishing guaranteed bit rate (GBR) quality of service (QoS) flow in session

A method includes receiving, by a session management function (SMF), first information from an access and mobility management function (AMF), obtaining, by the SMF, protocol data unit (PDU) session management subscription information from a unified data management (UDM) module, and when dynamic policy and charging control (PCC) is not deployed, establishing, by the SMF based on the first information and at least one of the PDU session management subscription information and local PDU session policy information of the SMF, a default GBR QoS flow in the PDU session.

Methods and systems of using remote subscriber identification modules at a device

The present invention discloses methods and systems for communicating at a cellular router between a first wireless communication module and a first subscriber identity module (SIM). The cellular router receives a first request from a first wireless communication module and encapsulates the first request in a first modified request. The cellular router then sends the first modified request to a first SIM card in a first communication apparatus and waits for a first modified reply. While waiting for the first modified reply the cellular router sends at least one halt message to the first wireless communication module after a first time threshold. After receiving the first modified reply, the cellular router decapsulates the first modified reply to retrieve a first reply and sends the first reply to the first wireless communication module where the first modified reply is a reply to the first modified request.

Embodiments of the present disclosure describe methods, apparatuses, storage media, and systems for determining a capability of a UE for supporting vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication over a PC5 interface, and determining at least a V2X policy and V2X parameters for the UE based on the capability of the UE for supporting V2X communication. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO MEASURE THE NUMBER OF PACKETS IN CUPS

Systems and methods to measure the number of packets in Control/User Plane Separation, CUPS, are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a Control Plane, CP, entity includes: determining that packet counting should be performed by a User Plane, UP, entity; providing measurement instructions to the UP entity for counting packets and identifying a recipient of a packet count if the CP entity is not the recipient; and, if the CP entity is the recipient of the packet count, receiving, from the UP entity, a packet count. In this way, a CP function is able to instruct a UP function to perform a measurement in terms of packets, e.g., a measurement of the number of packets transmitted.

REPLAY AGENT FOR DELIVERING CHARGING EVENT MESSAGES FROM A MESSAGE BROKER IN A MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORK

A system for preserving charging event messages in a mobile telecommunications network when a charging server is unavailable includes a message broker comprising persistent storage. The system also includes a network element that generates a charging event message, attempts to send the charging event message to a charging server, and writes the charging event message to the message broker in response to determining that the attempt to send the charging event message to the charging server has failed. The system also includes a replay agent that subscribes to the message broker for notifications associated with the charging server, receives a notification from the message broker about the charging event message, reads the charging event message from the message broker, and causes the charging event message to be sent to the charging server when the charging server is available.

A first charging data record (CDR) generating node can receive charging server information and available CDR storage information from a second CDR generating node. The first CDR generating node can detect that the charging server is unavailable to receive CDRs from the first CDR generating node. The first CDR generating node can also determine that a CDR storage area corresponding to the first CDR generating node should not be used to store additional CDRs. The first CDR generating node can also select the second CDR generating node for storing the additional CDRs that are generated by the first CDR generating node. The second CDR generating node can be selected based at least in part on the charging server information and the available CDR storage information. The first CDR generating node can cause at least one CDR to be sent to the second CDR generating node.
