Valuation of and marketplace for inter-network links between a high-altitude network and terrestrial network

Embodiments relate to a marketplace for inter-network links between a high-altitude network and a terrestrial data network. An example method may involve a computer-based purchasing agent: (i) determining a demand for inter-network bandwidth between a high-altitude network and a terrestrial data network, (ii) determining one or more offers to provide an inter-network link, wherein the inter-network link provides inter-network bandwidth between the high-altitude network and the terrestrial data network, and wherein each offer is associated with a corresponding client device, (iii) based at least in part on a comparison of: (a) the demand for inter-network bandwidth and (b) the one or more offers to provide an inter-network link, selecting one or more of the offers to provide an inter-network link, and (iv) initiating a process to establish an inter-network link at each client device that corresponds to one of the one or more selected offers.

Method and apparatus for performing an accounting network layer as a service

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a plurality of accounting nodes, each accounting node being associated with a service node of a communication network, each accounting node being configured to collect data usage information for a network segment of the communication network including an associated service node, and an accounting server in data communication with accounting nodes of the plurality of accounting nodes, the accounting server configured to receive from the accounting nodes the data usage information for each service node and determine billing for data usage of each network segment. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Asset management with respect to a shared pool of configurable computing resources

Asset management for a shared pool of configurable computing resources is disclosed. For a set of assets which share a resource on a first compute node, a set of asset weight values is identified. The set of asset weight values indicates a set of utilization shares of the resource by the set of assets. A set of asset priority values is identified with respect to the set of assets on the first compute node. The set of asset priority values indicates a relative status arrangement for the set of assets. Using the set of asset weight values and the set of asset priority values, a determination is made to migrate a first asset of the set of assets from the first compute node to a second compute node. Accordingly, the first asset of the set of assets is migrated from the first compute node to the second compute node.

Determining telecommunication subscriber metrics

Information associated with a communication is gathered at a switching point during the routing process to determine subscriber metric information associated with an active service identifier. The information relates to the originator of the communication and the target. The information is compared to a provider database to determine a carrier originally associated with the active service identifier. The information is then compared to a porting database to determine if the active service identifier was ported, and if so, to which carrier the active service identifier was ported. A determination can then be made regarding which carrier is associated with the active service identifier. Various systems and methods may be used to determine a number of subscribers, a number of new subscribers, and a number of disconnected subscribers for a given carrier in a given market.

ACCESS POINT WITH CONTROLLER FOR BILLING AND GENERATING INCOME FOR ACCESS POINT OWNER

A modified end user network access point includes a switching module and a controller to track usage of the end user network access point by wirelessly connected end user devices. The tracked usage information is transmitted from the end user network access point to a remotely coupled data center. The data center collects usage information from a plurality of different end user network access points. The collected usage information is in turn transmitted from the data center to a network carrier. The network carrier uses the received usage information to bill users for accessing the end user network access points and using any services provided by the end user network access points. An owner of each end user network access point is compensated by the network carrier each instance that an end user device utilizes the end user network access point to access the network carrier's communications network.

CONFIGURING A SERVICE BASED ON MANIPULATIONS OF GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATIONS OF ABSTRACTIONS OF RESOURCES
20180063028 · 2018-03-01 ·

A method to enable defining of a profile of a service through manipulation of graphical representations of abstractions of resources in a data center is disclosed. The profile of the service is accessed. A graphical representation of an abstraction of the first resource type is presented. A graphical representation of an abstraction of a second resource type is presented. A manipulation of the graphical representation of the abstraction of the second resource type is detected with respect to the graphical representation of the abstraction of the first resource type. Based on the manipulation, a correspondence between the abstraction of the second resource type and the profile of the service is identified and a relationship between the abstraction of the second resource type and the abstraction of the first resource type is identified. The profile of the service is updated to include information identifying the correspondence and the relationship.

MANAGING ASSET PLACEMENT WITH RESPECT TO A DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING ENVIRONMENT HAVING A SET OF HOSTS
20180020049 · 2018-01-18 ·

Disclosed aspects relate to managing asset placement with respect to a distributed computing environment or a stream computing environment. A set of host computing resource requirement data is detected. The detection is with respect to an asset for placement to the distributed computing environment. The set of host computing resource requirement data is for the asset such as a set of stream operators or a set of processing elements. A set of computing resource profile data for a set of hosts is identified. By comparing the set of host computing resource requirement data for the asset and the set of computing resource profile data for the set of hosts, an asset placement arrangement is determined. Based on the asset placement arrangement, the asset is established.
