A server, which may be configured to manage distribution of content to users, may receive content related information associated with a particular user, and analyze the content related information. Such analysis may comprise comparing parameters in the content related information with corresponding predefined parameters in the server for determining acceptable content related activities, and classifying users based on the analysis of the content related information. The content related information may comprise one or more of content usage related data, content download related metrics, or user session related metrics relating to one or more sessions utilized by users in conjunction with use of content managed via the server.
Mobile device and communication control method
Determining an initial number of TCP connections, dynamically determining increases and decreases in the number of TCP connections, and so on depending on a wireless communication method that is used enables a plurality of TCP connections to be used for wireless communication methods having higher communication bandwidths, and can thus improve communication speeds. Meanwhile, a drop in communication speed can be suppressed when using wireless communication methods having lower communication bandwidths.
Methods and apparatuses for charging of a service session of M2M devices in a communication network
The present disclosure relates to a method performed in an operator network providing data network connectivity to Machine-to-Machine (M2M) devices, for charging of a service session involving a plurality of the M2M devices. The method comprises, from each of the plurality of M2M devices involved in the service session, receiving a service message comprising a service identifier (SID) corresponding to the service session. The method also comprises, by means of the received SID from each of the plurality of M2M devices, determining the number of M2M devices involved in the service session. The method also comprises, based on the determined number of M2M devices, calculating a charging rate for the service session. The method also comprises using the calculated rate, charging the service session.
Systems and Methods For Distributing Promotions Over Message Broadcasting And Local Wireless Systems
A system and method for distributing promotions to mobile devices located in a broadcast target area and as a function of a promotion client identifier, the system and method including transmitting a first plurality of promotions associated with a plurality of promotion clients having locations in a target area, receiving a promotion client identifier, receiving the transmitted promotions, and displaying one of the received promotions on a mobile device as a function of the promotion identifier.
SUPPORT FOR ENVELOPE REPORTING
A method performed in a CP node. The method comprises setting a TQM in a URR to which its corresponding SDFs are applicable for envelope reporting, setting at least one reporting trigger in the URR, to instruct the UP function to generate a usage report upon closure of an envelope, setting a measurement method in the URR, to instruct the UP function to collect usage of volume, time and/or event, sending the set URR to the UP function, receiving one or more usage reports from the UP function, in response to the sent URR, wherein the received usage report(s) comprises at least a usage report trigger set to envelope closure, determining a starting time and/or an ending time for each envelope, based on the received usage report(s), and storing each envelope, with the determined starting time and/or ending time, for online or offline charging.
System and method for creating and navigating a linear hypermedia resource program
A method and system for creating and navigating linear hypermedia resource programs are disclosed. The system includes a distributed hypermedia resource network having a plurality of hypermedia resources residing on one or more remote information nodes. A common remote information node is in communication with a subscriber station and the remote information nodes in the distributed network. The common remote information node contains at least one linear hypermedia resource program consisting of pre-selected media elements from one or more hypermedia resources linked with exclusive linear links, each media element in the linear program having only one forward link to the next media element. The method includes the steps of downloading and displaying a media element in the linear program and responding to user commands to download and display the next media element in the linear program.
MANAGING METERING FOR DISTRIBUTED IOT APPLICATIONS
The present disclosure relates to methods of metering, and in particular to methods of metering activities of applications in distributed networks. More particular, the disclosure concerns a method for metering the operation of distributed Internet of Things, IoT devices. This disclosure relates to a method for metering activities of an application in a data processing system, wherein said data processing system comprises resource nodes configured to perform activities executed as actors in the respective resource nodes; and wherein the actors are controlled by one or more runtimes in the data processing system. The method comprises tracing, by a runtime, information related to activities executed by actors controlled by the runtime, and metering, by the runtime, the operation of the application based on the part of the traced information, which is related to activities of actors being used by the metered application. Furthermore, the disclosure relates to corresponding apparatuses and computer programs.
METERING CLOUD WORKLOADS AT EDGE COMPUTING DEVICES
A system meters execution of an application module at an edge computing device. A secure workload package is transmitted securely from a workload provisioning service to the edge computing device. The secure workload package includes the application module, a trusted metering application, and a provisioning service authentication token. The provisioning service authentication token is verified in the secure workload package based on an edge device authentication token generated at the edge computing device. The trusted metering application is executed in a trusted execution environment of the edge computing device, responsive to verifying the provisioning service authentication token. The application module of the edge computing device is executed, wherein the trusted metering application is configured to monitor execution metrics of the application module on the edge computing device. The execution of the application module is managed based on the monitored execution metrics.
Network and method for delivering content while minimizing congestion costs by jointly optimizing forwarding and caching strategies
Embodiments include a unified framework for minimizing congestion-dependent network cost by jointly optimizing forwarding and caching strategies that account for link congestion between neighboring nodes. As caching variables are integer-constrained, the resulting optimization problem is a non-deterministic polynomial time (NP)-hard problem. Embodiments relax the optimization problem, where caching variables are real-valued. Embodiments include optimality conditions for the relaxed problem. Embodiments include an adaptive and distributed joint forwarding and caching method, based on a conditional gradient method. Embodiments elegantly yield feasible routing variables and integer caching variables at each iteration, and can be implemented in a distributed manner with low complexity and overhead. Over a wide range of network topologies, simulation results show that embodiments have significantly better delay performance in the low to moderate request rate regions. Furthermore, embodiments complement each other in delivering superior delay performance across the range of request arrival rates, compared to existing methods.
