COMPUTER DATA SYSTEM DATA SOURCE REFRESHING USING AN UPDATE PROPAGATION GRAPH

Described are methods, systems and computer readable media for data source refreshing.

Transition to messaging from transcription and captioning

The techniques disclosed herein improve existing systems by controlling a data processing system for generating messages associated with a communication session. A first UI is rendered on a user device that includes a text-based transcription or caption of dialogue being communicated between users of the communication session. In response to receiving a selection of a portion of the transcription or caption for corresponding via a messaging function of the communication session, rendering a second UI including the selected portion and current messages exchanged between the users of the communication session. The selected portion is rendered along with subsequent messages exchanged between the users of the communication session.

Visualizing web conference participants in subgroups

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to generating and visualizing subgroups of participants within web-based conferences. Participant data for each of a plurality of participants attending a web-based conference can be obtained. The participant data can be analyzed for each of the plurality of participants. Each of the participants can be mapped to a subgroup of two or more subgroups based on the analysis. The two or more subgroups can then be visualized within the web-based conference to the participants.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ENABLING DIALOG AMONGST DIFFERENT PARTICIPANT GROUPS WITH EXPANDABLE MEMBERSHIP
20180013764 · 2018-01-11 · ·

An electronic communication system, such as a question-and-answer service, is provided in which a user submitting a question specifies one or more dialog network members to whom a notification of the question is provided. Authenticated responses by a member are published to the asker and other members. Responses may be made available to external users, with content contributors being either publicly identified or anonymous. If authorized, members of a dialog may add other individuals as members of the dialog, and imbue upon them special rights relative to the dialog.

MEETING COLLABORATION SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS
20180011627 · 2018-01-11 ·

A method for conducting a communications session comprising: displaying, by a client device, a communications interface including a first canvas, a second canvas, and a content browser, wherein: the first canvas is arranged to display a media stream, the second canvas is arranged to display a sequence of content items provided by a communications system, and the content browser is arranged to display identifiers for one or more document files that are associated with the communications session; detecting a first input that selects a document file from the content browser; in response to the first input, transmitting, from the client device to the communications system, an instruction to provide a new sequence of content items that corresponds to the document file; and displaying the new sequence of content items in the second canvas, wherein each content item in the new sequence is generated by converting a different portion of the document file from a document format to another format, wherein at least one of the document files identified in the content browser is associated with the communications session before the communications session is started, and the content browser is displayed during the communications session.

METHOD FOR A SWITCH-INITIATED SDN CONTROLLER DISCOVERY AND ESTABLISHMENT OF AN IN-BAND CONTROL NETWORK

Controller(s) in a software defined network (SDN) are able to determine a control path towards each network switch by performing a switch-originated discovery and using an in-band control network that is an overlay on the data network. A topology tree is maintained, where each controller being the root of the tree, and where messages from the root to any switch may pass through neighboring switches to reach that switch (and vice-versa). Each switch in the SDN attempts to connect to the controller when it does not have a readily configured control connection towards the controller. Once the controller learns about the presence of a new switch and at least one or more paths to reach that switch through a novel discovery process, it can select, adjust and even optimize the control path's route towards that switch.

MANAGEMENT OF EMERGENCY ALERT WAKE UP BITS
20180014171 · 2018-01-11 ·

Systems and methods are described, which prompt a UE that is receiving at least a physical layer signal from a broadcasting station to look for a new emergency alert. In embodiments, the UE renders content from the broadcasting station based on information received in transmitted physical layer frames. Included within a physical layer frame are bits, such as, ea_wake_up_bits. If the state change of the ea_wake_up_bits indicates that a new emergency message, referencing a new emergency alert, is being transmitted within the physical layer frame, the LTE locates the new emergency message within the physical layer frame and acts on the emergency message if it is applicable to the station to which the UE is tuned. If the emergency message is applicable, the UE acts on the emergency message by using information in the emergency message to locate and render the emergency alert. The emergency message may point to an EAS present on a linear TV service.

Multicast packet management for a virtual gateway of a distributed tunnel fabric

A system for multicast packet management in a first switch in an overlay tunnel fabric is provided. The system can operate the first switch as part of a virtual switch in conjunction with a second switch of the fabric. The virtual switch can operate as a gateway for the fabric. During operation, the system can receive a join request for a multicast group. The system can then determine whether to forward the join request to the second switch based on a type of a first ingress connection of the join request. Upon receiving a data packet for the multicast group, the system can determine how to forward the data packet based on respective types of a second ingress connection and an egress connection of the data packet. The type of a respective connection can indicate whether the connection includes an overlay tunnel.

Method and system for managing a meeting session

The present disclosure relates to a method and system for managing a meeting session. In accordance with one example, there is provided a method of managing a meeting session on a server that manages the meeting session, the meeting session comprising one or more participant devices and a presenter device. The method comprises receiving one or more break request messages from the participant devices, and sending a break message to the participant devices, the break message causing a break notification to be displayed on a display of the participant devices.

Issue tracking system having temporary notification suppression corresponding to group activity
11709721 · 2023-07-25 · ·

An issue tracking system configured to track issues, tickets, or tasks is described herein. The issue tracking system may be used to create, modify, and delete issue records during a live meeting or event. The issue tracking system may be adapted to determine a likelihood of user attendance or user proximity and, in accordance with the likelihood exceeding a threshold or meeting a criteria, suppress transmission of notifications to a subset of user devices. Normal or unsuppressed notification transmission is maintained to another subset of user devices.
