Playback Queue Control for a Zone-Based Media Playback System
Example techniques involve control of playback queues of a zone-based media playback system. Each zone of the media playback system may play back audio tracks from a respective queue. A control device may display a playback controller that includes multiple control interfaces to control audio playback by the one or more playback zones. When a first playback zone is being controlled, the playback controller may instruct one or more first playback devices of a first zone to play back audio tracks of a queue of the first playback zone. Example implementations may facilitate adding audio tracks to the queue.

A method and apparatus for playing back a scene using Universal Plug and Play (UPnP). A control point sends a request for a scene to be played back to a media server that stores Audio/Video (AV) content and receives the scene to be played back from the media server in response to the request. The control point receives information about supportable protocol and file format from a media renderer that will play back content, and determines a content resource, a protocol and a file format to be used for playback based on the information. The control point composes a scene to be played back based on the received scenes. The media renderer plays back the composed scene.

Subsequent to establishing, within a physical proximity, a wireless connection to the output device using the wireless communication circuitry, the portable electronic device is operable for receiving an indication from a user via the interface, for wirelessly sending information to the output device related to the indication, and for wirelessly receiving data or component from the output device in response to having sent the information. Additionally, the portable electronic device is configured to receive voice activated commands from the user via the microphone.
