In a method of controlling an operational parameter of a smart apparatus, a user processing device receives user-defined criteria for changing the operational parameter based on a financial parameter associated with an account. The user processing device obtains a value for the financial parameter from a financial institution server a value and determines whether the user-defined criteria have been met. Responsive to a determination that the user-defined criteria have been met, the user processing device transmits to the smart apparatus a first instruction to change the operational parameter. The user processing device may then receive an updated value for the financial parameter from the financial institution server and determine whether the user-defined criteria are no longer being met. Responsive to a determination that the user-defined criteria are no longer being met, the user processing device transmits to the smart apparatus a second instruction to change the operational parameter.

Example implementations include a method, apparatus and computer-readable medium for managing and communicating local information of an area, comprising receiving a user identification information of a user in the area. The implementations further include determining a user identification of the user based on the user identification information. Additionally, the implementations further include obtaining a first information based on the user identification, wherein the first information comprises a first set of local information associated with the area. Additionally, the implementations further include instructing display of the first information. Additionally, the implementations further include receiving a user input from the user in response to the first information. Additionally, the implementations further include instructing display of a second information based on the user identification and the user input, wherein the second information comprises a second set of local information of the area based on at least one local device and the user input.

A method for activating at least one communication interface of a residential gateway of a local communication network to which a main item of equipment configured for connecting to the at least one communication interface of the residential gateway is connected is disclosed. This method is implemented by at least one secondary item of equipment configured for communicating with the at least one main item of equipment via a first wireless communication channel, and with the residential gateway via a second wireless communication channel associated with at least one other communication interface of the residential gateway. This method includes transmitting to the at least one main item of equipment, over the first wireless communication channel, of a message controlling the at least one main item of equipment, and transmitting to the residential gateway, over the second wireless communication channel, of a request to activate the at least one communication interface.

A method of remotely configuring access to at least one home automation device that is part of a home-automation installation, the home automation installation comprising at least one home automation device and at least one central control unit, and the method being performed by a first remote access service carried out by a management unit and including the following steps: receiving an information message relating to the presence of the home automation device from a central control unit to which the device is linked; determining a second service associated with the type of home automation device for which remote access must be configured with corresponding access rules; configuring an access rights reference system in order to accept at least one control command from the second service or transmitting monitoring data to the second service on behalf of the home automation device. Embodiments include systems and methods comprising a gateway located at a premise forming at least one network on the premise that includes a plurality of premise devices. A sensor user interface (SUI) is coupled to the gateway and presented to a user via a remote device. The SUI includes at least one display element. The at least one display element includes a floor plan display that represents at least one floor of the premise. Methods and systems for collecting and analyzing data for managing and maintaining buildings are provided. An example method commences with collecting a plurality of data points from a plurality of equipment pieces associated with at least one building. The plurality of data points are associated with an operation of the plurality of equipment pieces. The method continues with analyzing the plurality of data points based on predetermined criteria. The analysis includes determining whether one or more rules of a plurality of rules are met by the plurality of equipment pieces. The method further includes determining, based on the analysis, that one or more equipment pieces of the plurality of equipment pieces do not meet the one or more rules. The method then continues with generating an alert associated with the one or more equipment pieces based on the determination that the one or more rules are not met.

Disclosed are methods, systems, and devices for management of a premises. The premises may comprise one or more devices, such as a gateway device, a control device, or a premises device. A computing device, such as a server external to the premises, may receive data indicative of the premises device. The computing device may determine to update a configuration of one or more devices at the premises, such as the gateway device or the control device. Configuration data may be sent to the gateway device to update the configuration.
