A system includes an input and a plurality of outputs. The system also includes an in-home network adapter configured to connect to and be positioned between the input and the plurality of outputs. The system also includes a splitter configured to connect to and be positioned between the in-home network adapter and the plurality of outputs. The input is configured to receive signals in a cable television (CATV) bandwidth and signals in a multimedia over coax alliance (MoCA) bandwidth. The in-home network adapter is configured to allow the signals in the MoCA bandwidth to pass from the input to the plurality of outputs and from the plurality of outputs to the input. The in-home network adapter is configured to attenuate or prevent the signals in the CATV bandwidth from passing from the input to the plurality of outputs, from the plurality of outputs to the input, or both.

CATV device with resistive signal distribution network
11627380 · 2023-04-11 · ·

The present invention is directed to a CATV & MoCA® device, such as a RF signal amplifier. The RF signal amplifier includes a RF input port to receive signals from, and transmit signals to, a service provider. The RF input port is connected to an active communication path with a downstream signal amplifier leading to an input of a resistive splitter network. The resistive splitter network has plural interconnected resistors, which split the amplified signal received at the input of the resistive splitter network and provide the signal to plural “CATV & MoCA®” output ports. Upstream CATV signals received by the “CATV & MoCA®” output ports are combined by the resistive splitter network and sent to the RF input port to be transmitted to the service provider. MoCA® signals received by any one of the “CATV & MoCA®” output ports are carried by the resistive splitter network to the other “CATV & MoCA®” output ports, and potentially to other “MoCA® only” ports of the RF signal amplifier.

TRANSMISSION OF USB DATA IN A DATA STREAM
20230104594 · 2023-04-06 · ·

In a method for transfer of USB data in a data stream, which includes streaming data, the streaming data and the USB data, which includes a number of USB packets with a first number of bits, is received. The USB data is divided to create a number of transfer packets with a second number of bits of USB data. A transfer packet is inserted into the data stream, and the assembled data stream is transferred. An interruption pattern is added to at least an initial transfer packet to signal that USB data is present in the data stream.

Provided are a communication method and device, and a storage medium. Provided are a communication method and device, and a storage medium. The method comprises: a control device determining a first resource and a second resource, there being no resource overlap between the first resource and the second resource; and the control device communicating with a first device by means of the first resource and communicating with a second device by means of the second resource, the second device comprising an energy collection module and/or a backscatter module.

Method and apparatus for providing a high security mode in a network

Systems and methods systems and methods for efficiently and securely forming a communication network. As a non-limiting example, various aspects of the present disclosure provide systems and methods, for example utilizing a plurality of different security modes, for forming a premises-based network (e.g., a MoCA network).

MULTIMEDIA SERVERS THAT BROADCAST PACKET-SWITCHED AUDIO WITH SECOND SCREEN CONTENT
20170374241 · 2017-12-28 ·

An apparatus, system, or method may wirelessly send an audio component of a multimedia channel to one or more wireless computing devices while a visual component of the multimedia channel is playing on a video monitor. The extracted audio component of the multimedia content may be packetized into data packets and broadcast via a network such that the data packets can be received by the wireless computing devices and the audio component can be played by the wireless computing devices in synchronization with the visual component playing on the video monitor. A channel listing may inform the wireless computing devices what channels are available. A visual content that is not the visual component of the multimedia channel may be displayed on the wireless computing device while an audio component of the multimedia channel is streamed to the wireless computing device. A direction indicator may be displayed on the wireless computing device to indicate the direction of a video monitor playing the visual component. A user of the wireless computing device may request that the visual component playing on a video monitor be set to a user-selected component.

Method and apparatus for layer 2 discovery in a managed shared network
09853865 · 2017-12-26 · ·

Methods and systems are provided for Layer 2 (L2) discovery in a managed shared network, such as a Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) network. A network controller node of the MoCA network node may receive, from a node entering the MoCA network, a submission requesting discovery of information regarding communication capabilities of a plurality of nodes in the network. In response to the request, the network controller node may obtain from one or more nodes of the plurality of nodes information regarding communication capabilities of the plurality of nodes, and may send the communication capabilities of the plurality of nodes, such as to a second plurality of nodes.

Audio routing system for routing audio data to and from a mobile device

A method includes receiving sound by a first audio unit installed in an electrical outlet, routing audio data corresponding to the received sound from the first audio unit to a second audio unit installed in a second electrical outlet, and sending the audio data to a mobile device using a wireless link between the mobile device and the second audio unit. Routing the audio data may include receiving the audio data from the first audio unit by a third audio unit and routing the audio data to the second audio unit by the third audio unit serving as a router. The data may be routed using table driven routing, on-demand routing or some other appropriate routing protocol. The method may also include performing voice recognition on the audio data and detecting a command word and routing command word data to the second audio unit.
