Secure node admission in a communication network
System and methods are provided for admission to networks that include at least one node providing network coordinator functions. A network coordinator may have a random number generator, with the network coordinator distributing a random number within a network that include at least a first node and a second node. The network coordinator may receive a request for a dynamic encryption key from the first node, with the request being encrypted using a static encryption key unique to the first node, and with the static encryption key being determined based on the distributed random number. The network coordinator may then send a dynamic encryption key to the first node, with the dynamic encryption key being encrypted using the static encryption key. The second node may then admit the first node into the network. The network may be a Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) network.
Electronic device control system, and method for operating electronic device control system
A mobile device includes a communicator configured to transmit information about least one of a frequency, a pattern, and an amplitude to an electronic device located within a critical distance from the mobile device, an acoustic wave output interface configured to output an acoustic wave matching at least one of the frequency, the pattern, and the amplitude, and a controller configured to provide a user interface to operate a function of the electronic device when information about the function of the electronic device controllable by the mobile device is received through the communicator.
Method for mapping packet service onto optical transport network (OTN), and OTN device
A method for mapping a packet service onto an optical transport network is disclosed. An embodiment of the method includes: receiving a packet service message from an access side, identifying the message by using a first board number of a first line board in which a first egress is located and a first port number of the first egress; sending the message to the first line board corresponding to the first board number; and encapsulating the message that is sent to the first line board, mapping the encapsulated message onto a first optical channel data unit ODU corresponding to the first port number, and sending the first ODU by using the first egress. Cross-connect scheduling of any bandwidth in any direction is implemented based on a packet service, and packet services on different tributary boards share different ODU timeslots or a same ODU timeslot on a same line board.
Dynamic provisioning of IoT devices from an online application marketplace
A method for provisioning a group of devices with control-group data defining one or more functional interrelationships between the devices. The method includes providing a GUI defining an online application marketplace, the GUI specifying multiple applications available for download, each application including a different respective set of control-group data defining a different respective set of one or more functional interrelationships. Further, the method includes receiving user input selecting a given one of the applications, the selected application defining given control-group data defining a given set of one or more functional interrelationships. And the method includes responsively (i) downloading the selected application and (ii) provisioning the devices of the group with the given set of control-group data, the provisioning establishing the given set of one or more functional interrelationships between the devices of the group.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ACCESSING WIRELESS NETWORK BY SMART DEVICE
Disclosed in the present invention are a method and system for accessing a wireless network by a smart device. Smart device generates a temporary data packet comprising a temporary key, which is transmitted by light blinking, thereby greatly improving the confidentiality of data transmission. A controller detects a blinking optical signal sent by the smart device through a photosensitive component of the controller, and performs parsing to obtain a temporary data packet; the controller encrypts network information of a wireless network by using a temporary key, and sends to smart device through wireless network; the smart device decrypts the network information after receiving, obtains a long-term key after performing operation on network information, encrypting communication by using long-term key, and adding encrypted communication into wireless network. In this way, confidentiality for accessing wireless network by smart device is greatly improved.
Home monitoring and control systems
A home monitoring and control system has a base unit, a monitoring system that has at least one monitoring device to output monitoring signals and a portable unit. The base unit has a base unit communications system. The portable unit has an infra red remote device controller, a human I/O interface, a portable unit communications system and a processor. The base unit communications system connects with a telecommunications landline and communicates wirelessly with the portable unit communications system. The processor processes monitoring signals provided by the monitoring system and provides notifications when that processing indicates a predefined event. The human I/O interface displays such notifications. The portable unit communications system communicates with the base unit communications system using a DECT communications protocol and with a Wi-Fi network.
ENTRY ADAPTER FOR A CABLE TELEVISION NETWORK
An entry adapter configured to communicate cable television (CATV) signals from a CATV network to one or more network devices and to communicate Multi-Media over Coaxial Alliance (MoCA) signals with a MoCA server, the entry adapter including one or more MoCA ports, and a signal combination device configured to direct the CATV signals toward one or more access ports without substantial attenuation, to substantially attenuate the CATV signals directed toward the one or more MoCA ports, to pass the MoCA signals from the one or more MoCA ports to the one or more access ports, and to pass the MoCA signals from the one or more access ports to the one or more MoCA ports.
Method and apparatus for implementing traffic flags for large service groups
The use of traffic flag symbols allows a large number of CPEs to transmit traffic notifications to a network controller. In some such embodiments, hundreds of CPEs simultaneously transmit traffic flags on different subcarriers of a channel. For example, in a MoCA2 based access network, up to 480 CPEs can transmit flags in only 5 s in the 100 MHz-wide channel.
Method and device for establishing wireless connection
Methods and devices are disclosed for establishing a wireless connection. In one embodiment, a method includes establishing a first wired connection with a router, receiving connection information sent from the router via the first wired connection, wherein the connection information is configured to enable an electronic device to connect wirelessly to the router, and establishing a second wireless connection with the router based on the connection information.
